Characters who choose one person over the rest of the world bc that character *is* their world will A L W A Y S be a top tier trope. No more heroism, just morally grey people who love each other. It's such a good trope for apocalypse/sci-fi/fantasy and I need to see it MORE.

If you want to find more diverse stories, moving out of tradpub is a must. Diversity cannot flourish under tradpub because of perceived marketability, but indie authors can and WILL write the stories you're craving. 1/2

Sometimes I don't feel like a "real" horror writer because my stories are fairly soft. I don't focus on the blood and gore, but the ways that people fuck each other up, the way that the world fucks us up. It's terrifying to me, but it's a lot softer than a lot of the genre.
