@blimeysimon Over the years, councils, charities, voluntary sector agencies, police, housing etc have all worked with the NHS to reduce admission & improve community support. Many innovative schemes have been very badly affected by severe austerity measures & now Labour promise more!

@MarkSeddon1962 The labour right wing, having taken over the party and bullied out all the centre left policy people and with no idea what to do once in power are now handing the country over to the far right as predicted

RT @MelanieNottsDA: Some issues may take longer to resolve, such as finally landing charging reform, but we know now how to do many urgent…

@AssocMHP @raymondsheehy @BridgeMH I was proud to have a very small role in this - it was a brilliant report done by a brilliant organisation. Please post it to @wesstreeting ASAP!

@BBCr4today @bbcnickrobinson It was Jeremy Corbyn who clarified what it would mean and put it in the manifesto but Wes out paid to that !

@touretteshero @socfuture @StayUpLateUK Brilliant thread thankyou! Not sure the govt understands how many young disabled people need a social care system that is based on their rights and needs and wishes and not just those of older people

@FisherAndrew79 Your brilliant 2017 manifesto laid out the NCS concept but Wes didn’t agree with it back then

@ianbirrell @wesstreeting In the meantime, I am guessing more money to the nhs who will rightly complain they can’t use it because social care is not functioning properly!

RT @ianbirrell: This is shameful. We have seen at least 17 white papers, green papers and state reviews of social-care funding this century…

@blimeysimon @BBCNews @AlisonHoltBBC @wesstreeting I also question why younger people with long term disabilities and MH issues need to wait until 2028 for funding reform that is likely to largely be about how older people pay for increasing care needs in later life. These funding issues are separate & one can be sorted sooner
