As an immigrant who grew up on an estate in London, should i go home ? To the estate that had a high % of Irish families? (My lifelong friends)
Should people whose country is being bombed go home ?
99% of people in Ireland, luckily, don't follow the footlocker, Garda,
1 thing this pandemic has shown is the importance of sport to adults/childrens mental health, the social interaction, the health benefits and pure enjoyment of being involved. Sooner its back the better these are dark times for mental health in our community. Sport is important.
I would like to thank Tony Doyle, John Godkin, and Wexford FC for this opportunity.
I will endeavour to deliver an environment that helps local players reach their potential, player centred coaches, and reality-based learning at the heart of what we deliver.
@WexfordFC
📢We are delighted to confirm the appointment of Mark Ross as the new Head of Academy at Wexford FC!

I dislike the way some speak about Stephen. He is working towards a long-term goal. He is not running down the grandad route of the late 80' and 90' to win matches. He is taking the shite chucked at him because he believes in the youth of this country and should be forwarded the
Might be time to look closer to home for inspiration in football, no more AJAX, Belgium, Hungary, Spain or Iceland, just go down the Road to
@ShamrockRovers
look at how their structure is working through the whole club.
Without the multi millions spent across Europe. Well done
Just a few of the publications I've been working on for the Academy
@WexfordFC
A small part of the overall Academy re-structure we will be working on over the year.
Small steps with problems along the way, but with a long-term goal, to help players reach their potential.
first time ever I've put up my 22 years of education in football on my office wall, just pieces of paper at the end of the day but for me a long journey in a sport i started playing 50 years ago, and every day i learn something new

45week coaching syllabus, every age group from u13 to u19 they are 3 foot long on laminated sticky back .3 months work, for my final interview presentation for the Elite A licence course Through the FAI.
From a squad of 17 players we have 10 available today, we've called up Josh coady from the u15 as we have no GK available. Giving us 11 players, anyone who thinks it's wrong to have large squads, here is your answer..... we live in the real world.
I will be working with
@Tom_Elmes
for the 2020 season. Really looking forward to working with Wexford youths woman's squad.

Always remember your roots.
It could have been discussed with me or the club privately, my door is always open.
Let's hope in the future problems can be sorted away from social media,and young players will not be thrown into the public eye.

They used my squad from

Even if i was just the bib carrier 😂
Well that went quick ! Carlow kilkenny fc u15 LOI first season, we had 24 lads during the season. All a credit to themselves and their families. There is a bright future for this club

We as a community have come a long way in underage football, BUT still we have coaches runing on the pitch celebrating a goal screaming like it's the FA cup final !
Asking the ref for yellow cards, and shouting abuse, it's development over winning
#Muppets
"embarrassing"
I'm really happy to get this over the line ! An exceptional person and proven record at helping players develop at all ages, a highly qualified player centred coach.
Will help develop the academy and deliver our long-term goals. Welcome, Ciaran 🙂
@WexfordFC
U19 | We are delighted to confirm Ciaran Kavanagh as U19 Manager for the 2023 season!

After 12 hours and 170 players over 4 age groups, our assessment day 1 is over !
@WexfordFC
It's the last time the club will have trial days. From next season, we will run a continuous assessment invite policy.
Listening to
@newstalk
tonight, and as always sports update..other countries latest scores first, LOI premier then that's it... ping pong and snail racing from Iran, would make it before LOI Division 1, here's a mad idea, why not cover Irish sport first as this is Ireland 🙄
There are some great development minded coaches in the LOI underage,thanks to
@CorkCityFC
video analysis coach today who sent us the game with in 5 hours of the final whistle !
@cwkkfc
we are in it to develop the players. And working together as a league is good for the sport.
I can honestly say the bunch of lads I have this year at Carlow Kilkenny FC are without question the most respectful,easy to work with players I have had to work with in 18 years of coaching. They are a credit to their families.

last 1 today, my systems of play presentation from last years U17 squad.
@WilliamDoyleWx
gave me a lot of useful materials over the years and i put a lot of those ideas into this presentation.
Again i'm no expert in presentations...
Thank you to
@FAICoachEd
&
@NiallORegan29
for your ongoing support in my education and belief in me to continue delivering grassroots coach education going forward also
@FAIWexfordDO
for the support and guidance as always
16 lads in this photo will have 2 years at u17, 9 of them were born in the last few months of 2003, that means they will be playing against quality players 18 months older than them. What a great way to learn your trade.

over winning. Future over now !
@cwkkfc
Kenny haters will be disappointed with that result, for the rest of us, thats a good day in the office....
@FAIreland
believe in the process great players coming through
The final draft of my final interview presentation for the Elite A licence course with
@FAICoachEd
I have learnt a hell of a lot on this one ! It's been a long road that started in 2000 with my first coaching course. Thanks as always to
@FAIWexfordDO
and Dave Evans for the help.
Let's see if this gets to the people who need to hear this ! We are at a crossing point. Either we grow or we fail, and the foundations crumble. We need government intervention to push forward, not the raffles, local sponsors, parents, or players who fund our sport.
Government

Here's a hard statistic to stomach since the start of the 2017 season Wexford FC have played 102 league matches and have won 13.....
In Division 1 of the league of Ireland.
Next week our u15 and u17 squads will be given the opportunity to complete free coach education with the
@FAICoachEd
including PDP 1 PDP 2 and national D licence, also 2 workshops, giving them National coaching qualifications.
This is a fantastic initiative by the FAI
@cwkkfc
Credit should be given also to DLR for the professional approach they took the Covid protocol, temps taken, massive changing rooms to allow social distancing, setting up the subs area and hand sanitizer everywhere 👏 masks worn in communal areas.

Just a gentle reminder
@todayfmsport
that the other half of the population have a national league as well, so instead of giving airtime to over sea leagues how about mentioning the

games in the programming.
Another great course with
@FAICoachEd
, fantastic interaction from fellow coaches, some outstanding presentations and discussions throughout the course, thankyou to
@WilliamDoyleWx
for the advise and guidance through the course.
Received messages of support today off managers from some of the teams we have played in the league this year, just shows the respect we have for each other in the football family of Ireland.

League of Ireland
@cwkkfc
This is the longest period of my 46 years in football without playing or coaching, I'm starting to feel very detached and lost, it's amazing how much the game is part of your DNA, your life, your thoughts. I now understand what Shankly ment...
Or am I being selfish ?
Talking is always better then shouting in underage use natural stoppages in games to talk to individual players on a 1-1 basis, gives them a chance to draw the picture as they saw it as well, you were not standing where they were something I was told and has stuck with me.
I would like to thank the committee, parents,FAI, LOI for all the work done behind the scenes, having belief in our club
@cwkkfc
this is only the start, we have plans for all age groups boys/girls, with the long term aim of adult men and woman teams
#GreatestLeagueInTheWorld
3 years ago, a years worth of work was printed... a player development plan over 170 pages.
Still has not been activated but hopefully soon will be used for it's original purpose to help develop underage players in the LOI

The pitch at
@EvergreenFC
was like a bowling green, perfect for football to be played on the ground. Great credit to evergreen as it's the end of their season
@cwkkfc
The next chapter in my journey, i never had the opportunity to go to college or Uni. All my education has been late in life, Thank you to
@FAICoachEd
for supporting me and giving me opportunities i would never have had !

and
@WilliamDoyleWx
for pushing me on !
Children being given any abuse is sickening, but add Racism to that abuse as well.... when as a society are we going to stamp out this shit 🤬😡🤬 cowardly doing itbon line as well... scumbags
What ever you think of Man u and what ever club you support, this lad has not been on social media or tv throwing his dummy out of the pram, he's just kept working quietly and got himself another chance to play for the club he wants to be at.
I respect his morales and honesty 👏
Well done Matthew who scored his first ever LOI goal today against
@CorkCityFC
u17 as I told him after the game, no one can take away from him the fact he's scored in the highest league in Ireland for his age group.
@cwkkfc
proud day for him.
Never give up on yourself or your beliefs there will always be people who will take great satisfaction out of tripping you up on your journey BUT it only takes 1 person to hold out a hand to pull you back to your feet.
Brush yourself down and move on
Believe and achieve ⚽️🔜
The last of a generation in our family, guarded Japanese POW's at the end of the war in Java. Such a calm quite man. He takes a lifetime of advice and memories with him.
@NewportCounty
supporter and my grandad. put this up so there will always be a photo of him in the world.
Some need to remember there are a lot of people who work long hours within the FAI nights and weekends, a lot of it unpaid, for minority groups etc, a lot of what the FAI do is free. push the positive get off the bandwagon.
@SundayShare10
A 49 page booklet i gave to our u17 squad, its made up from a FAI produced presentation, with some add ons I've 'borrowed ' from friends 😉 thanks
@WilliamDoyleWx
When a child of 14 has a 3 hour round trip for training on a school night because he/she is of a high standard at that age and needs to continue their development against the best in the country, it tells us we need more LOI underage teams. quick !

@league_ireland
Another historic night for Carlow kilkenny fc u15 LOI. Our first ever cup game !
@cwkkfc
@TrevorSpillane
@kclr96fm
And we should all be very proud of the lads, travelling so far on a school day 👏👏
Into the next round
What a learning curve 2019 was with these exceptional coaches and people on the UEFA Elite A licence course with the FAI Jason Donohue Niall O Regan in this photo alone there are coaches from USA,Canada,Hungary, China, England and Ireland...
@FAICoachEd
hardest part of management in sport, telling parents/players they did not make the squad. To that player in that moment it's their world and they can't see tomorrow or next year, just today and now I'm 50 and still remember how i felt at 16 being told. Heart wrenching 😔
Good interaction with some of the new coaching team tonight, announcement of the Academy coaching structure and appointments to follow !
Excellent group of player centred coaches. Highly experienced, highly qualified with some great young coaches as well.
@WexfordFC
Can anyone clear this up for me.
When a ref is assaulted in a game people say ban the idiot for a few games, but if it happened in the car park,the idiot would be arrested and charged with assault. What makes an assault on a pitch above the law? Or am i missing something.
Gets on my nerves that National radio sports depts think the only games this weekend again are other countries football leagues and GAA also I didn't know that only men play sport ? We have a National woman's league and I will shock some by saying they also play at weekends 🙄
LOI Academy Conference today at the Aviva, great to meet up with all the heads of academy & head coaches in Ireland, and some old friends

Great things going forward
@WexfordFC
I told all the players today, what ever happens in the future, no one can take away from them the fact they have played in the league of Ireland
#GreatestLeagueInTheWorld
