clinical risk tools should reflect factors predominantly affecting ethnic minorities including: multiethnic age structures, multimorbidity & deprivation
This will enable early identification & triage to appropriate care (1/10)

Burn-out is a syndrome conceptualized as resulting from chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed.
3 dimensions:
- feeling exhausted
- feelings of negativism or cynicism related to one's job
- reduced professional efficacy.

This photo is incredibly powerful. It shows paralympic swimmer Antonios Tsapatakis standing in front of his chair underwater.
Speaks volumes about how the environment we're in affects what we can do, what we're capable of.
That's why culture is so important
When you dismiss a

death because a patient has an underlying health condition or learning difficulty, you are propagating the astonishing lack of understanding about chronic illness and the dangers for ill health and poor disease outcomes.
Equitable care needed for ALL
*Imposter syndrome thread*
Imposter syndrome can make us feel not good enough even though we are actually in reality doing ok or better than ok....doing well
It’s tough living with imposter syndrome...it comes with all sorts... anxiety, self-doubt, feelings of failure
*Mental health thread*
At least 1 in 4 of us are suffering with mental health illnesses.
We are all human and we do not know what trouble the human beside us is facing.

Ethnic minorities is not a one size fits all. Disaggregation of ethnic minorities in studies is important and we must look at each group individually to drive the finest quality care. Let's get ethnicity coding right

patients of BAME ethnicity are more likely to be admitted from regions of highest air pollution, housing quality and household overcrowding deprivation; this is likely to contribute an explanation towards the higher ITU admissions reported among COVID19 BAME patients.

Ethnic minorities exhibit higher multimorbidity despite younger age structures and disproportionate exposure to unscored risk factors: obesity and deprivation. Risk tools need to reflect risks predominantly affecting ethnic minorities.

Effective triage at hospital admission is required to ensure pts from all ethnic groups are risk stratified to appropriate level of care

teaching medical students is great fun. Invite them into the team. I find that if I can explain something then it helps me understand it better! And also.....medical students love to help with ward jobs and it's a great learning opportunity all round
