I think we are also conflating being helpful and being liked. Not always the same thing. While customer intros and hiring help is nice the best founders do that without you anyhow - what really matters is being the person they can call when shit goes wrong/is hard. I respect the DPI data but also kind of a funny thing to correlate when the industry has basically been DPI less for almost a decade…let’s see in a few years ;)

Well said @blakeir and agree (1) it’s 100% (or should be) a service industry (2) that the founder experience does map to whether or not your check matters to overall fund returns and that (3) incentives of the whole industry largely create many of the problems that exist today
