Aid workers accuse humanitarian organizations of censoring their language on #Gaza. I felt, one former aid worker said, that I was "being asked to lie". They fear Israel might otherwise refuse them permits to operate in the Palestinian territories.

A flight from Bangkok (DMK) left at 4:48 a.m. local time Thursday, traveling directly to the Uyghur region. @TheReportersTH @Romadonity @Nyrola reported trucks w/ covered windows left Suan Phlu prison just after 2:00 a.m. The plane almost certainly carries the group of Uyghurs.

I've heard from a few reliable sources that Thailand's Immigration Detention Centers appear to be preparing—positioning trucks, setting up tunnel tents, and deploying additional personnel at IDC Suan Phlu. They are not allowing journalists to film there this evening.#Uyghurs

Tonight, Idris Hasan is free. He suffered more than 3 years in detention in Morocco, due to the Chinese government’s abuse of the Interpol RED notice system. We are so grateful to welcome him. Whenever it is possible to rescue even one Uyghur, we must do it.

Our latest: In December 2024, the German government defunded Zochrot and New Profile, two Israeli human rights organisations. It follows an earlier move to cut funding for several Palestinian NGOs. Some fear this shrinks spaces for those critical of the Israeli government.🧵

A big shoutout to @BirSchuelke and @NaomiConrad for their meticulous work. This topic is highly sensitive and controversial in Germany. Many sources were fearful to go on the record. All the more I am glad that the story is out.
