@LukeDashjr @sstackmore What does a rando mentioning they had good luck on a luck based pool mean in this regard?

@LukeDashjr @sstackmore Okay they are not a hidden 10% that's a bit extreme I'm sure there is some pool that is that bad but idk that's pretty extreme

@sstackmore @LukeDashjr Yeah but you shouldn't chase a falling knife so I waited it out and then bought more hardware at the bottom. Then at peak everything was super green. Not many people can mine for 2 years at a loss to wait for an upswing

@sstackmore @LukeDashjr If you. Want maximum coin just buy Bitcoin. If you want a business you can cash flow mine Bitcoin. If you want to grow the business you sell the Bitcoin to upgrade machines and expand bigger and bigger if you don't you just buying Bitcoin with extra steps but getting write offs

@LukeDashjr @sstackmore I mentioned I did it for 2 years. Aka Bitcoin mining was not good on that generation of miners at that time

@sstackmore @LukeDashjr I'm a big fan of mining at a loss when times are tough. I did that for almost 2 years and then profited heavily like 6-7 years ago. But at large large scale that's not as easy.

I beg to differ you would have raised capital 2 years ago and built out during bear marker and was mining when times were tough and held it out. Holding Bitcoin as a miner is kind of pointless maybe a partial hold. It's cheaper to just buy Bitcoin. All the incentives for mining is to sell it and reinvest expand. This is why the pubco's buying Bitcoin and holding is pretty pointless locking up capital vs growing

@LukeDashjr @sstackmore Datum is nothing more than just doing job generation local by running a full node. At that point why even use a pool your running the full node already to self mine.

@sstackmore @LukeDashjr I disagree. Luck matters a lot at small scale (single digit eh) Unless they have a ton of money to bankroll themselves that is a horrible idea.

@LukeDashjr Why I think 6 blocks to confirm is great and requires a lot of effort and wasted energy to attack. I will Glady mine against a pool that is trying to change this.
