Idk who needs to hear this, but create folders for your Emails! Having a messy inbox can be overwhelming and cause unnecessary stress. You always want to keep important Emails for documentation. These are the folders I recommend having to keep yourself organized. 🧵🪡

NEWER CREATORS — Even as a beginner, you should not charge any less than $150! If you’re not able to justify this rate, you need to study up on direct response best practices and gain confidence in your work before marketing yourself as a UGC creator to brands. 💌

How to get blacklisted within the community: Rip off other creators work in an attempt to sell your own digital products. I’ve had this happen to me before, & it’s so disheartening. It’s one thing to take inspiration, but to copy and paste? Unacceptable.

Can someone explain to me why my Tik-Toks become such terrible quality after a few hours? I swear, when I shoot them, they look fine and when I first upload them they look fine. But after an hour or two the quality looks like I shot it on a Nokia Phone from 1985.

You do not need an aesthetic home to be a UGC creator! Some of the most successful creators will tell you, they don’t have the most beautiful modern home. The goal is always to match the clients branding, & not every brand needs perfectly curated ‘skincare in the sunset’ shots.

Is UGC oversaturated? NO. This industry could never be oversaturated. There are endless amounts of brands that need UGC, & even more popping up everyday. There are billions of consumers. The amount of UGC creators in comparison is unmatched. 🧵🪡

Been a full time Creator for a little while now living my dream life. 🙌🏼 It’s totally possible. My advice? Believe in yourself relentlessly. Be DELUSIONAL, but be prepared to WORK. Running ANY type of business isn’t easy or immediate money. Having the correct mindset is key.

I’m going to be completely honest, This may be controversial.. I rarely charge for 3-6 month usage rights. 😬 Knowing myself, there’s no way I’m tracking down an ad, & then chasing down the brand for payment after 3-6mo’s. In perpetuity is a different question though.

Things you should charge for as a creator: • Your base rate per video • Whitelisting & Dark posting • Raw Footage • Usage Rights • Exclusivity Rights — I typically don’t allow exclusivity at all. Never underestimate your worth and always negotiate!

I don’t do a whole lot of UGC anymore, so whenever I do accept a deal it’s always a retainer for no less than $5k (usually organic) Hubs just signed a deal for $3000. If you’re still accepting $150 for a video, you’re going to get tired of UGC very quickly. Raise your rates!

The way one of @ChelseaUGC ’s Airbnb stays was cancelled due to a privacy issue (hosts fault.) & she didn’t panic at all. Less than 72hrs to pitch to another host & managed to make it happen. If you’re wondering if her templates are worth the purchase, there’s your answer. 🙌🏼

Tip #5 : $200 is a low rate. Creators are often being paid $500+ for a video. Tip #6 : Most creators that reach out don’t have good content. Create better content. Tip #7 : Stop justifying your rates, it gives the impression that you’re unsure of them.

Be mindful of what you post on your socials, remember that this IS your personal brand & digital footprint. Do you want potential clients to perceive you as lost, or knowledgeable? Professional or unprofessional? Whiney/bitter about not getting work or consistent & ambitious? 🙌🏼

Had to let one of my clients go because they can no longer afford my rates. Very tough conversation to have, because the relationship we’ve built means a lot to me. However, it is so important to respect your own time and not allow anyone to take advantage of your hard work. 🤍
