This week we released Black Barn Program No. 32 American Wheat (tasting room only). This recipe from our brewer Ben, utilizes our house yeast, Warrior, Saaz, Cascade, & Citra hops, and 100% Maine-grown malt from @Blueoxmalthouse - The perfect beer for warmer days. Enjoy!

Thanks to everyone who joined us for the Rubbish Community Cleanup last night. We removed 44lbs of garbage from Pine Street, Rt. 1, and the Park & Ride in Freeport, and our Community Pizza Night raised $520 that will be donated to Rubbish to support their work!

What a fantastic evening with the folks from @rubbish_portland and all of the volunteers! We cleaned up 44lbs of trash from the streets around the brewery. Thank you to everyone who participated, make sure you check out the @rubbish_portland page to see their next stop!

@habershamjones1 @dirigo04101 @randybillings We put this information as many places as we can to make it clear we don’t accept tips, and so no one feels there is no obligation to leave anything. But also to make clear if something is left behind, it is donated. We are also upfront about our nonprofit partners.

@randybillings @SchnedekerDana POS systems are sadly designed to include this, we asked for that screen to be removed so there would be no confusion, but were only allowed to edit it to say donations. We make a big point of being very clear about that policy throughout our TR so customers understand.

@randybillings @mamafrommaine On the check out screen it does say we do not accept tips, money left behind is donated. Unfortunately our POS system would not let us eliminate that screen entirely.

@randybillings This info is on our website, on our menu, on our wall, and should have been explained to you by your server when checking out. We are very transparent about this, and it has always been company policy.

@randybillings We don’t, and have never accepted tips. We make sure we pay our staff a competitive wage plus benefits like health care, 3 weeks PTO, and a 401K. Any money customers choose to leave beyond their checks is donated to nonprofit partners.
