@SamAburime
They're barely even trying to hide the fact that they're just puritans who dress up their deep-seated regressive attitudes in social justice terminology anymore.
@Gilded9
@scorpichloe
Non-binary people exist. Also one can still feel physically attracted to the male body but also repulsed by the toxicity and disgusting behaviour of the majority of cishet men, it's not unheard of.
@SkyGuyArt
It's irritating how gimmick accounts went from being about posting funny things to "haha we're definitely not posting this so our followers look up the exact wording and find the person who originally posted it so they can harass them ;)"
@lewdersheep
Tbf it's far worse when it's "haha I draw big tiddies" but then "I complain about SJWs and people being too sensitive these days, and think that anyone to the left of me hates porn and sex", which are unfortunately things I've seen spouted by big nsfw artists.
For those who (understandably) don't want to watch a 2+ hour video on this, the gist is that by 1945 Japan's privy council were well-aware Japan couldn't win, and were ready to accept defeat ON THE CONDITION that the monarchy was kept. Which it was, in the end.
@SamAburime
They're just giving misogyny a pink coat of paint at this point holy shit. Seps are the fringe of the fringe, it just sucks they're able to amplify their thinly-veiled bigotry in public echo chambers like this without much chance of recourse against them.
@HOTVR1
@angelc8x
Fair use usually only applies if not directly commercializing the transformative work in question for purposes outside education, parody, etc. Going against the author's wishes that her work not be commercialized is also inconsiderate. Your art is lovely, but this stance is not.
@animegart
Please stop reposting peoples art completely uncredited. It takes a few seconds to use or other reverse image search, so you can rt the artist or at least link the original.
@d3arts
@rizahawkbi
The difference is that said adults and minors who are uncomfortable with it can choose to not (and in the case of the minors shouldn't have to begin with) interact with that content. It's not tangibly harming anyone, because it's fiction, and obscure fiction at that.
Couple that with Oppenheimer stopping a petition from other Manhattan Project scientists asking that the president send Japan proper terms of surrender before using atomic weapons (Szilárd petition), and you get the two largest-scale individual war crimes in history.
@Trashqueen_01
I really wish so many men wouldn't use feminism as a facade for their own creepy ulterior motives. It gives anyone else who genuinely just wants to make life less miserable for all sexes a bad name.
@jojobee_
How heated people get about drawings of busty characters really makes me question whether breast envy is just some made up trope or is just based on reality. 🤔
Truman didn't wanna lose political points. And thus, the Potsdam agreement was rejected by the privy council, because there was no provision protecting the monarchy, so the war carried on...
@NieckarzArt
@tkbread_
@QasimRashid
I can't believe it needs to be said but yes, Ronald Reagan was racist. The man started the War on Drugs as a pretext to incarcerate and disenfranchise black folks. I know you won't likely be convinced but for anyone else:
@kevdawgrob
@BimboPolitic
Don't forget the counter-productive tαnkies who refuse to vote, support campaigns, or do anything concrete within the current political system and spend all day on social media complaining how it's rigged by the bourgeois elite & that those who do partake aren't "real" leftists.
It was even in a draft of the Potsdam agreement, that the allies "wouldn't exclude the possibility of a constitutional monarchy", but was removed in the final draft without notifying or consulting the person who wrote it. Why? President Truman promised "unconditional surrender".
@down_jess
@Kyuu96_
二形・ふたなり (futanari, lit. "dual form") is usually translated as "hermaphrodite" or "androgynous". It's been an element of Japanese culture since prior to the Edo period (1600s). Applied to real ppl it's a slur. When it comes to art it is in no way meant to put down queer ppl
Puriteens be like
*enters adult spaces specifically to seek out content they don't like, then harass and shame the creator in a pathetic attempt to compensate for the lack of sense of control they have in their own life*
@AmyDentata
Same is true for calling someone a pussy tbh like... why yes I'd love to be compared to the thing you so desperately want to be in but probably never will bc of your shitty attitude. 🤣
This applies to a very specific subsection of people, but if you conflate opposing antis and fandom purity culture with being "anti-SJW", freeze peach absolutism, and/or tolerating bigotry and general shittiness towards minorities, I hope you swallow a roach.
@DynamiteOT7
@SchicksalAvalon
@stremnpen
@uyusshi
That's how antis work. They don't care if they're objectively wrong about anything, they just want to feel like they can exert control over someone by trying to shame them. Usually it's because there's something in their own life that's affecting them that's out of their control.
@OolayTiger
It's ultimately harmless. The people who get super uptight about "canonical" ages are usually just seeking to control others via shame/guilt, essentially bullying, to compensate for something they lack control of in their own life (trauma, abuse, mental illness, etc).
@AmareloSpace
@silendus
@Rizdraws
You replied to Riz making a distinction about their character being trans and claimed it's somehow ideological. Seems to me more like you're the "ideologized" one if you think an artist making a clarification about their character's background is somehow pushing an agenda.
@BlacklightSpark
@SkyGuyArt
Nah, free speech doesn't entitle people to an audience, but it does entitle people to tell those they disagree with to sod off if they want. It isn't freedom from the consequences of saying or supporting dumb shit and getting called on it and/or ostracized for it.
@Playzholder
They always do. Any feature that doesn't explicitly cater to them or that makes games accessible to a wider audience is treated as an existential threat.
@OolayTiger
Ppl can feel uncomfortable with certain types of art, everyone has their preferences after all and not all media is meant to cater to everyone. I draw the line when ppl start morally grandstanding about it and labelling others predators because of art they make or consume.
@BlazingTamaki
@peggyuwu
@AntiCaughtIn4K
Tbh pretty much all anime and Japanese media could be considered problematic by antis' arbitrary standards solely because at least one tiny aspect of it doesn't fit their warped, western-centric version of "morality".
@JohnZeller3
@Danwhite1972
If there's something wrong with not liking the taste of billionaire boots and understanding that trickle-down economics doesn't actually work, then I don't want to be right
@itslanabee
Even then I've yet to see any compelling scientific evidence that it's an addiction (altered brain chemistry leading to dependency) and not just some folks' unhealthy coping mechanism.
This article's abstract (and contents by extension) sums it up well.
@DigitalHToy
It irks me that they try and twist any kind of adult content censorship as "SJWs at it again!" for clicks while also enabling authoritarians to run wild on their site. The idea that one can't be leftist/progressive while enjoying or producing adult content is really stupid too.
@d3arts
@rizahawkbi
A more concerning coping mechanism, to me, is people using their personal discomfort with certain topics to justify policing, harassing and demonizing others online to give themselves a sense of moral superiority.
@rayilicious
@LinnLewds
@Rizdraws
Referring to a trans person as "futanari" in Japanese is nearly as disrespectful as referring to them as a "hermaphrodite" in English.
