@phaedradsr Because the train is a better option, and takes a similar amount of time when you factor in getting to the airport etc

@mediamorphis I've seen folks on Twitter pointing out this is a May day protest. Not sure where that info is coming from. The encampment when I visited today was very peaceful

I’m old enough to remember when an extremely eager student called Julia wandered into The Link’s office at Concordia. Within a few months she had the place clocked. One of the hardest working and most talented journalists I ever met.

@WalkMontreal I walk this stretch every day on the way to daycare and back. It's only deserted on a chilly, gray holiday Monday. And judging by the types of shops, there's plenty of money being spent. Montreal is beautiful, diverse, vibrant. Come visit y'all

@MollydeAguiar Was this at the Knight Media Forum? Do you know if there's a link to the comments somewhere? I'd love to read the whole exchange. Thanks!

I have a lot of time for people who put their money on the line to support community assets. I hope, though, that we can work together to make this one accountable to the community @mitchgarber @mtlgazette

@rasmus_kleis @jeffjarvis Like you I'm assuming that most of this over 90% went to the US, but is there any way to parse the data? I'm curious what portion went to Canada

So many solutions to the crisis in journalism. Maybe we'll emerge from COVID with a news sector that less ad-reliant. Great ideas in this report by @anyaSIPA and students

The pandemic is a chance to rethink how we do journalism. In Canada that means learning from some of the innovative and non-ad-supported journalism happening down south. Check out my new piece.

I've spent the week thinking about the proposal to turn the Salt Lake Tribune into a nonprofit. What I realized is that the IRS wasn't meant to make media policy:

Can you judge a book by its 99th page? My answer to this weird question: I hope not!
