"Seven students have committed suicide since I started middle school. While administrators are doing everything they can to just keep us all alive, this anti-CRT rhetoric by the school board is causing immeasurable stress on our students and staff." -Claire Mengel, Turpin senior
I’m frustrated by the “unconfirmed reports of active shooter” messages I’m seeing from local journalists rn. That kind of unconfirmed messaging is scary, irresponsible & alarmist. Let’s get out the facts & information we know is true so as to be helpful to parents at this time.
if 👏 you 👏 care 👏 about 👏 what’s happening in your community 👏 and 👏 want 👏 to 👏 be informed 👏 by hardworking, local reporters 👏 then 👏 you 👏 have 👏 to 👏 pay for it 👏👏👏👏
some of my high school classmates are married & having kids and some of us (me) are drinking cheap beer & searching their apartment in search of spare quarters for laundry. different strokes for different folks, my dudes.
And we need to have a real conversation - again - about school transportation in this city. There is absolutely no reason why those kids should have been roaming the streets alone - more than a mile from home - returning from their first day of school.
Let's be better. (done)

Yes, I ask people in my community what things they would like to see investigated/reported on. Yes, I ask them for story ideas. I'm a local reporter. Talking to the people I write for - my community, the people of Cincinnati - about their needs helps me better serve them.

I hate how career-driven our society is... like no, maybe I don’t know what I want to be when I grow up; but I do know that I want to eat good food, travel, fall in love and enjoy some stellar sunsets - why isn’t that a good enough answer for what I want my future to look like???
