@KatExe My point is: nothing ventured, nothing gained. Gods within the play are subject to the rules of drama and so are embroiled in conflicts that have no easy solutions. They don't seem to succeed entirely, and even if they claim they do, the aftertaste is often bittersweet.

@KatExe We always work with what we have 😂 My impression is that if a deity acts within the confines of a play, they subject themselves to the dramatic tension and must commit some dubious deeds. This comes especially true in Ion: Apollo's ashamed to show his face.

@KatExe I think that we can compare the Eumenides and Ion in that Apollo is the one who fails at something, and Athena comes and picks up the pieces, but isn't entirely successful either. In other words, if the gods are actual characters and not just deux-ex-machina movers, they can fail
