Here's my first modeling challenge!
I've modeled a form and I want you guys to attempt the same thing. 😤
Guidelines for this: Quote reply with your solution smoothed and with wires. Must be subdiv only!
Next week, I'll post my solution! 😄
Korean Bevels + Trim Sheet, no Decals, no baking.

2.0 for

If Blender releases tomorrow, then
#DECALmachine
2.0 will very likely follow Thursday or Friday.
Super excited and energized about it! Been on it for a year now!
#b3d
It's necessary to convert legacy decals to ones compatible with the upcoming
#DECALmachine
release for
#b3d
2.80.
This can now be done with a single button press per decal library.
The decal experience in eevee is just something else. And these aren't even projected yet.

- Flatten - Faces based on another face, or a single face based on 3 of its verts. Flatten along a normal or along edges.

Sharing my results earlier than intended. I recorded an 8 minute video going over process and reasoning for those who want to know more.
Shoutout to
@machin3io
for helping to refine my boolean process just a wee bit more!

Addding thread to cylindrical face selections.
I think this is the most artist friendly approach out there. It builds on the otvinta algo, but takes it further. No cleanup needed.

It's the last tool I've added for the public release.
* auto matching panel decal materials as they are sliced
* non-cyclic panel slicing with non-manifold geometry
* change panel type with Adjust tool via CTRL scrolling
* store decal scale and scale when inserted
* batch tools
* get backup

3 people asked for this since yesterday, and I remembered I wanted something iike this when working on the Adam Baines walking tank a while ago.
So here is edge constrained rotation

Releasing OffsetCut as an experimental feature was a last minute decision.
As a result this ngon-loop-select capability is undocumented for Select/LSelect, because it's really only useful - but very much so - in this specific context.

POLY curve editing
Should I release this as a solo tool? Seems to have become fashionable.

Meanwhile people complain

TOMORROW (I think).
In
#DECALmachine
1.8+ you can easily select an object's decals by double clicking it.
In 1.9 you'll be able to just as easily select decals or the same kind as the selected one - per decal parent or across all visible objects. Simple, but very effective and convenient.

#b3d
Available right now on Patreon (Core Tier). To be released at the end of the month I think.
The upcoming
#DECALmachine
2.0 will bring full emission support for all decal types.
I've shown before how you'll be able to match emissive materials. Now decals will also bring their own emission map.

Wedging from object mode using

Also, redo panel, which really shows what the planar face option does when sliding the wedge corner.

Bending with live mods (and so automatically bending their mod objects) is possible too (within reason).

This is finished for now, and it goes out to the beta testers on patreon today, as part of the 13th pre-release.
There will be a final 14ths one before
I should have learned by now, to never call anything finished.
Align Relative now supports multiple objects at once, including entire groups. It will now also deal with mirror mods and adapt the mirror objects accordingly.

Auto-matching mutliple different decals at once, even already projected and sliced onces.
"Auto-matching" is material matching, based on raycasts and only of the outside, so non-subset parts of decal materials.
It's done via the Re-Apply tool in the upcoming

Understanding
#CURVEmachine
's Blendulate tool, and why it's not just a Curve Bevel*:
If you start from a single point and use Blendulate on it, it will create a circular bevel - when AutoTension is used, which will set the tension based on the angle at the curve point to

Unfortunately, this idea means I'll release tomorrow or Sunday, not today. Thank you for your patience! CURVEmachine 1.0 will be better for it.

I did this a few months ago, but don't think I've shared it yet.

This replaces the need to run the

No more manual saving of renderings, quick quality changes without any manual adjustments of settings, no more fireflies, etc.
Built to facilitate everything from quick test renderings to final rendering with mattes.

I love doing washouts like these in
#MESHmachine
, and I actually don't think there's any other way to do them, unless you go down the sub-d path of course
#b3d
In the upcoming 2.0 release, you can do manually adjust trim locations using the TrimAdjust tool directly in the 3D view.
Note how the movement is always natural in 3d space, and compare how this translates into UV space.
