To celebrate Robot Dreams getting nominated to the OSCARS (!!!) here's another bit of the animatic, from the beginning of the film.
The text in the ad used to say "looking for a friend?" and ended up being "are you lonely?" which I love because it hits you in the gut a lot more.

We used to spend the weekends in a public pool that had a HUGE waterslide. I remember the first time I went down, it was so magical. When we went back a few years later I discovered that this “huge” slide was actually pretty small. Little Maca just saw the world differently ✨⛱

I recently got nominated to an Annie Award and I'm still in shock and beyond excited. Robot Dreams got FIVE NOMINATIONS in total, which is groundbreaking for an independent film :') just a testament of how special this film is.
