Targeting hospitals, especially a cancer center such as
@MSKCancerCenter
like this is beyond the pale. As a cancer survivor, I find this particularly reprehensible. Free speech is one thing. Targeting vulnerable patients is another.
#IStandWithIsrael
The language used here against Asians is divisive, demoralizing and disgraceful. It is doubly hurtful that this vitriol was aimed at my constituents in
#RegoPark
.
As a new City Admin. begins and the
@NYCCouncil
embarks on a historic journey, I want to introduce everyone to a new female leader - my Chief of Staff,
@faciaclass
. Facia has a lot of govt and community experience, most recently w/
@Grace4NY
Welcome Facia!!
As a member of the NYC Council’s LGBTQ Caucus, I am disappointed with a number of
@NYCMayor
’s appointments. In Nov, New Yorkers elected a govt. among the most diverse in history. The people have spoken: inclusion, dignity, & justice are clear shared values.
Well after 2 + years of being courted by COVID, it finally got me. I tested positive today. Have mild symptoms, but my doctor said if I weren't vaccinated and boosted, I could've become severely ill, especially given underlying medical issues. Please stay safe & get vaccinated!
It was an honor & privilege today to be elected to serve as the Chair of
@NYCCouncil
Health Committee. I have dedicated my personal & professional life to health care advocacy & look forward to helping all New Yorkers access affordable & equitable healthcare.
I’m cancer-free now because I got screened early. Next month, I’ll be bringing these same screenings to my Community in the form of a mobile van.
Be sure to get a mammogram, call 311, and get screened. It could save your life.
#BreastCancerAwarenessMonth2022
I am honored & excited to be sitting in my office for the first time, serving you, my constituents.
On my first day in the City Chambers, I spoke true to my promise on expanding hospital capacity.

6 yrs ago today my partner Adelaide passed away unexpectedly. During her too short life, she was a Mom to her patients as an EMT, a Mom to her clients
@thefortunesoc
, a Mom to our dog Elvis, and occasionally a Mom to me. Everyone is a Mom to someone today.
#HappyMothersDay
5 yrs ago today my world changed forever when my partner, Adelaide, passed away suddenly & unexpectedly. To this day, her devotion to helping our city’s most vulnerable, whether as a

EMT or case mgr
@thefortunesoc

I am honored to be elected by my neighbors to represent them on the City Council. I promise to work hard everyday to make sure we are safer and healthier moving forward. Thank you for your support.

It should never have come to this. Nurses are the frontline of healthcare; they took the brunt of COVID-19 and are now taking the brunt of greedy hospitals. I stand in solidarity with
@nynurses
This type of hatred shouldn't be tolerated from anyone, especially another elected official. As a proud lesbian member of
@NYCCouncil
from Queens, & a funder of
@DQSHtweets
I am saddened & angry that a colleague would be threatened by the teaching of tolerance in our schools.
I am quoted in this article, and I will reiterate: Any school in my district participating in 'drag queen' degeneracy risks losing their funding.
Adult drag performers have NO BUSINESS in our schools, and they will not be in my district. Period.
NYC will be adding 5 new monkeypox vaccine clinics at:

as the new Chief of Staff for

in Council District 29. Jonathan has extensive experience in government (including

Sadly, antisemitism has struck again in Queens, at Forest Park. Hatred agains Jews is a growing issue and we cannot allow this to keep happening. Big thx to
@NYPD102Pct
for their immediate response. The offensive graffiti was removed and
@NYPDHateCrimes
was notified.
It's June and it's Pride Month. Thinking of my late partner Adelaide, who is gone 4 years now, and our LGBTQIA activism together. We have come far, but have so much more to go.

Tonight’s vicious targeting of the Nova Music Festival Exhibition, which is a moving, heart-wrenching remembrance of the Oct 7 massacre, is reprehensible and must be vehemently condemned.
This is pure antisemitism, not peaceful protest.
#stopthehate
Protestors are currently shouting "Long live the intifada" outside the

We did it! We won! Thank you 29th Council District for your support. It is a privilege to be the Democratic Nominee for Council to represent our community, and be a part of history as a woman elected to what will likely be a female majority Council. 🧵
Am happy to announce that
@Grace4NY
and I have partnered together to bring an extra COVID testing site to Forest Hills for tomorrow, December 23. Thx to Our Lady Queen of Martyrs for hosting.

As the NYS Budget continues to be negotiated, I am urging Governor Hochul (
@GovKathyHochul

From celebrating
@MetCouncil
for their extraordinary work in fighting poverty, to standing in solidarity with hostage families to

@UJAfedNY

City councilwoman on the importance of expanding hospital capacity. No matter what ZIP code you live in, you should be able to have access to quality, affordable health care, Lynn Schulman said
My journey magnified the struggles women and others face in our broken healthcare system. I look forward to fixing these disparities as a member of the city's 1st majority female Council. 🧵 2/2
Today, in an Arab-Israeli village in Northern Israel, 12 Druze kids and teens were murdered in an unprovoked attack by Hezbollah on a playground where they were playing soccer.
May justice prevail against these terrorists, and the memory of these children always be a blessing.
Representation matters!
@NYCCouncil

@21in21NYC
for this historic win, and for believing in all of us!
As an out Lesbian from Queens, Queens Pride has been a part of my life for decades. I was so proud to march this year as one of 6 newly elected LGBTQIA+ Members of

Congratulations to

As a member of

@NYCSchools
to investigate and put measures in place to protect educators and students across the board.
We are at a stage where this behavior is no longer surprising.
@NYCSchools
must redouble its efforts to fight against the forces that only seek to sow hate and discontent.
This anti-semitic graffiti was found by a local Rabbi after Shabbat tonight. I have referred this to the Commanding Officer of

As I stated in the Brian Lehrer interview, COVID is the worst public health crisis of our lifetime. It is certainly not comparable with the flu. Continued deaths from COVID or any disease is not acceptable.

A Forest Hills neighbor tragically lost her life in a flooded basement apartment last night. I am deeply saddened for her & all those who lost their lives from Ida. Climate change is REAL folks. We must change our ways and build up our infrastructure NOW.

40 years ago, I worked with GMHC to help patients who had no legislative support during the HIV/AIDS crisis.
Today, I am introducing legislation alongside my colleagues in the LGBTQ+ caucus so that we do not repeat the same mistakes. Together, we can end the stigma & battle MPV

Thanks goes to
@Lynn4NYC

Hatred is unacceptable anywhere, and as a proud member of

Praying for the full recovery of the Jewish individual who was stabbed in a horrendous hate crime in Brooklyn on Saturday. Thank you to

I was horrified to hear of a second attack on a Sikh Individual in Richmond Hill today. My office is working closely with the 102 Precinct on this matter. Hate has no place in our community or our city!
Queens was in Brooklyn today. I "showed up" to help elect my friend & colleague
