Sandie Peggie’s legal team suspect that NHS Fife’s management withheld evidence that they started and aborted an initial investigation into allegations of misconduct before starting a 2nd investigation months later. If true this has serious implications.

@Katejsm1 Dr Upton thinks any man can claim to be a woman regardless of having a GRC or having gone through any hormone treatment or surgery. Therefore any man could enter a female changing room and ask to be ‘respected’. This is dangerous.

A biological female is a person with XX chromosomes with a reproductive system designed to produce eggs. There’s nothing rhetorical about it, this does not make any sense whatsoever. 👇
@lucyamarsh "biological female" is a rhetorical term. She's trans sexually female. Her point is that she can reasonably be defined as female in some capacity. I agree with her, she shouldn't have to subject herself to degrading othering

I have been out today and so am only now catching up on the Upton hearing. It seems to have gone completely wild. When a man & a doctor to boot, declares that he is a biological female, it is time to stop the hearing & call in the people in white overalls and bearing sedatives.

What if the patient were a teenage girl expecting to see a female doctor?
Dr Upton says that if a patient spoke to him the way Sandie Peggie had spoken to him when she said he shouldn't be using the female changing room, he would describe it as, "a confrontational encounter with an aggressive patient."

@RogerOfBorg it’s just insane. Also madness that the NHS has his sex recorded as female so patients could turn up expected to see a woman. Imagine a teenage girl requesting a female doctor and finding herself in a room with him?
