I was assessed by three different psychologists who each came to the conclusion that I had gender dysphoria. At the time it was the appropriate care for me and saved my life. Can’t knock that. Detransition is a statistical inevitability and there is a life after it as well.

I, alongside 19 other detrans people, testified in opposition to HB68 last year. However I did not get to testify in person due to lack of funds. The best I could do was make TikTok’s with CTAs to get others involved. Interesting how pro-trans detrans people don’t get funding.

I waited for years before I was able to start my medical process. I went on to detransition as an adult - Gatekeeping is an ineffective way of preventing detransition.
Ohio governor is simply lying when he suggests that we need heavy gatekeeping of adult trans care to minimize regret.
Gatekeeping trans healthcare does not prevent regret, and might in fact increase it.

Hot take: I don’t think it’s appropriate to say about detrans people that it’s because they couldn’t cut it as whichever gender. Some of us had underlying issues that were mistaken as gender dysphoria. I was by all accounts a successful guy, but I needed to take a different path.
