My 2025 Crypto VC Funding Outlook TL;DR - Overall optimistic under strong regulatory and macro tailwind - Funding unlikely to hit the 2021/ 2022 highs as VCs won't make the same mistake twice - Capital will be allocated towards projects with strong fundamentals, leading to high-caliber projects entering the public market Verticals to Watch - Infra (preconf, tooling, interop, etc.) - Crypto * AI (Specialised AI agents, multi-agent orchestration, data intelligence, etc.) - DeFi (protocols with novel mechanisms to boost capital efficiency, instead of forking) Primary & Secondary Market Interaction - In 2025, VCs will focus on fundamentals more than ever, with capital injected towards strong teams proposing healthy tokenomics and realistic revenue models - Projects will enter the secondary market via CEX with strong momentum, encouraging price discovery and liquidity provision, facilitating robust capital market formation - Though the uphill performance of DEX is notable, CEX will still play an instrumental role in introducing projects to retail, influencing the capital flow for most narratives If you're building in crypto, my DM is always open!

Last evening, I came across a news headline: “Citadel CEO Ken Griffin says he regrets not buying crypto a few years ago.” This prompted me to reflect on a brief conversation I had with Ken Griffin in October 2023. During my third year at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), a peer of mine reached out to Ken Griffin via email and successfully arranged for him to share insights with us. This marked his first visit to any UK university and resulted in the most attended session that our business society has ever hosted. Having researched his stance on crypto (as a typical LSE sweat), I prepared a few questions regarding the topic. After an hour of panel discussion, I was fortunate to be selected during the Q&A session. **Me**: “During your previous interview with Andrew Sorkin from The New York Times, you demonstrated a rather bearish position on crypto. However, your view seems to have changed recently. How come?” **Ken Griffin**: “The market cap, which currently stands at ~$3 trillion. Solana also trades at a $600 million valuation as well … I am not particularly fond of blockchain’s anonymous nature … Retail perception of sovereign credit will also influence its pricing, particularly in emerging markets … None of Citadel’s portfolio holds crypto by the way.” Being early does not necessarily mean you’re wrong. Once a subject achieves consensus, your entry may only be a beta play at best, or, worse, you could end up as the exit liquidity. Determination and conviction can take you far; perhaps we’ll see Citadel creating a Bitcoin strategic reserve next. Who knows?! #LSE #Citadel #Crypto #KenGriffin

Happy to announce that I'm doing the same job as Trump and Vance Didn't know the day would come so fast🫡
Tim Walz just said that "venture capitalists like JD Vance and Donald Trump" are responsible for working class communities being left behind and jobs being moved overseas. This guy very clearly has no idea what he is talking about
