To me it’s all about culture in this one. One side has dudes begging to pitch and compete on days rest and the other side plays with average hustle at best and it takes convincing for them to play hard. Starts before the game.

coaching staff has 15 years of pro ball playing experience and I have ZERO of that. Pretty good baseball staff put together at D3 level. Some of the best coaches I know are at this level. PSA’s and PARENTS are encouraged to do more research on D3.

These guys are resilient in every which way and led by an incredible leader and person in Jan. I wish those players and coaching staff nothing but the best moving forward. Our trips to BSC early season were some of my best memories over these last few seasons.

I’ve been coaching for 12 years now. The initial emails, calls, texts to a potential student-athlete that does not respond is in the thousands. Am I missing something? Have the courtesy to at least respond with “not interested.” Unfortunate trend in recruiting.

My admiration for D-3 coaches is off the charts, especially recruiting. It is one of the hardest parts of the job to over come egos and misinformation that some PSA’s have.

I think a lethal word in our field is “projects” especially as a labeled “D1 Guy” or a perfect “D3 Guy.” Who cares? When coaches talk like that, it clouds the PSA’s own judgement of reality sometimes. They very well could be that fit but let the kids attitude and play decide

This is terrible. Why penalize the programs that are committed to trying to compete this Winter and have been already. If it truly is about “participation.” Per NCAA, another poor decision as it relates to the well being of student-athletes.
