Growing up, I didn’t see many people who looked like me on TV. It impacted how I saw myself.
This is the first time in my life that I’ve seen this. And it happened in my hometown. Such an inspiring moment for me, and hopefully for younger Asian-Americans.
It’s not an everyday occurrence that we have three Asian-Americans leading a newscast. It’s only for one day & it may not be a big deal for you, but the significance of this, is not lost on me. Honored to work with these amazing journalists. More here:

A 9-year-old girl named Ella organized a bake sale and a lemonade stand to raise money for Black Lives Matter Saturday. This happened from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the 1900 block of Poinsette Drive in Fort Wayne.
