There are remnants of Lost Ballparks all over this country. This brick wall still standing in Brooklyn between first and third streets is all that remains of Washington Park, former home of the Brooklyn Tip Tops of the Federal League. It was the site of Cy Young's final game.

1975 Cleveland team photo taken at Municipal Stadium. That '75 team included Frank Robinson, Gaylord Perry, Boog Powell, Buddy Bell and Dennis Eckersley. I may be alone in saying this, but I really miss that ballpark.

I spent the afternoon at the Double Play Bar and Grill in SF; est. in 1909 and one of the few reminders of Seals Stadium; a Lost Ballpark which once stood across the street from 1931-1959. The Seals (of the PCL) played there from 1931-1957. The Giants played there in '58 and '59.

A woman in her 80's once told me how magical it was to grow up a block away from League Park in Cleveland. She remembers sitting in her bedroom with window rolled up anxiously waiting for the crowd to roar to see how her beloved Indians were playing.

That's Nancy Faust, organist at Comiskey, seen here in 1980. The sound of an organ playing during a baseball game was as much a part of my childhood as peanuts and cracker jacks. @played41 was the White Sox organist from 1970-2010 missing only 5 games during her tenure!

This photo was taken in 1909 shortly after the Forbes Field opened. The Pirates, the Steelers and the NBL Homestead Grays all played at the Pittsburgh ballpark. It closed in 1970 and was demolished in 1971.

When the Astrodome was built in 1965 Astro's owner Roy Hofheinz had an apartment constructed for himself in the interior. After Hofheinz passed away in 1982 the team eliminated the lavish apartment during a 10,000 seat ballpark expansion. Photos: Life

Fort Lauderdale Stadium opened in 1962 as the Yankees spring training home and the club's class D (later A) minor league team. Mantle, Ford, Berra and Jackson all dusted the winter cobwebs off at the south Florida ballpark. Demolished in 2019. Photo near the end by Marcus Villar.

Sadly, the demolition of Municipal Stadium in Hagerstown, MD is underway. The ballpark opened May 8, 1930. Willie Mays played his first professional game here (June 24, 1950) with the Trenton Giants after skipping his senior prom. - Brayden Leather

This is one of the very few known photos of the rotunda at Ebbets Field. Fans would crowd their way into the rotunda, huddle under the iconic baseball chandelier, collect their tickets and then walk through the doors and out to their seats.

Thankful this historic ballpark, Rickwood Field, is not lost! Built in 1910, this Birmingham ballpark has had over 180 Hall of Famers pass through at one time or another! The wood seats pictured are from the Polo Grounds. Well worth the visit! Photos: Scott Billingslea

Comiskey Park, circa 1950's. Bill Veeck bought the White Sox in 1959 and painted the exterior white. A year later he added the "exploding scoreboard."

When the Astrodome was built in 1965 Astros owner Roy Hofheinz had an apartment constructed for himself in the interior. After Hofheinz passed away in 1982 the team eliminated the lavish apartment during a 10,000 seat ballpark expansion. Photos: Life
