I took time (lots of time!) to rearrange our classroom so the gathering area isn’t facing the sink & cabinets. Feels fantastic! Well worth the time and energy. Ready to welcome 35 fourth graders into our space tomorrow! 💙📚✏️

It’s hard for me to believe I didn’t learn about Ramadan until college while traveling in Morocco. Picture books like these weren’t around when I was a kid. Books broaden our horizons and for that I am grateful 💜

A fourth grader of mine shows her appreciation each & every day. At the end of the day she makes a point of coming up to me before she leaves and says, “Thank you.” Gets me every time! Gonna soak it up for the rest of the school year!

Oops🤭next time I fill out a form for Middle School Sports I need to make sure I put my daughter’s name, not my name 🤣 luckily, she was a good sport about it. She did made it clear that it can only happens once, because if it happens again, it won’t be funny! 😆

These books are irresistible 🍜 One of my 4th graders checked out Let’s Make Ramen in hopes that he & his mom can make one the of the recipes! Thanks to

Started with 38 fourth graders in my class this year. One moved out of state, one went to private school. Now there are 36 students in my fourth grade class. CLASS SIZE MATTERS
Funny to find what fourth graders come up with. This avid reader had a sign at her seat to let others know when she was available to speak with. Just not when she’s reading 😆
This also makes me wonder if the next Tryout book by

is out yet!

My laugh out loud moment today:
While reading a book to my class a fourth grader in front says: “I love how your earrings are mismatched today.”
Sure enough I felt my ears and I was wearing two different earrings. Funny fourth grade moments. Let’s all laugh at the teacher 😆
So much joy! My Andrea came to visit me at school today and meet my students. I was lucky enough to be her first and second grade teacher almost 20 years ago. We’ve stayed connected ever since. Love every minute we spend together!

🛍️📚Got two books and some super high bouncy balls for our rewards cart. 🖍️
I also sent cute bandaids to a teacher friend who always pays it forward. Thank you for the giveaway opportunity! Still have a bit to spend!

A teacher’s dream come true 📚
My students know me well & make me proud💜One of my 4th graders was beyond excited for me to open her gift. Quality not quantity is one of my go to sayings. The other gift is from a former student promoting to middle school. These two taught me as much as I taught them!

One of my fourth graders read Unplugged by
@gordonkorman
last year and keeps asking me if I’ve read it yet. I’m happy to say I finally read (and loved) it! Can’t wait to chat with her about it at school on Monday. Now I’m handing it off to my kiddo to unplug and read🐊

Sounds like a systematic way to get specific feedback for improvement. Thank you for suggesting! I also like the open endedness of the letter written with the audience of future fourth graders in mind. A combo of the two would provide me with tons of feedback for improvement!
You never know until you ask. Eye opening to read the worries my 4th graders put in our worry jar after reading Wilma Jean the Worry Machine. Important for me to remember the worries kids have no matter how big or small they may seem. Some of these are pretty big.
