@of_disability 2/2 My situation was complex as I was in ICU due to surgical complications that could have been prevented. I had to find peace with my surgeons, which I did that through writing a blog. Exploring why I felt how I did (and what it must be like to work as a surgeon)

@of_disability Coincidentally, my Plastic Surgeon who did my abdo wall reconstruction, was working in the same operating room at that time. He was so lovely, and showed me some interesting procedures.

@Smudge92084582 @of_disability I’ve since retrained to be a nurse, and often have to visit patients in ITU. It’s the one part of my job that I hate, my heart races whenever I walk through that door. Hopefully we will never return as patients 🤞

@Smudge92084582 @of_disability Your post brought back memories that I wish I could forget. For me it was begging the nurses not to lay my bed flat (long story) I was so scared, but did not have the cognitive ability to explain why. It’s comforting to know that I’m not alone. Hope that you & your wife are ok x

@of_disability Sorry to hear you are struggling at the moment, was the Botox not as effective as you’d hoped? I’m lucky, I can manage my pain by avoiding certain tasks. I did however once not buy the most amazing pair of boots because they were too difficult to put on!! That saved me £££’s 😂
