I literally watched as cash was disbursed. We had a team on our tiny little 30 man patrol base who did that almost full time. I accidentally broke someone's tail gate & physically watched him receive remuneration, well beyond what it would cost to fix.

Realistically Russia will *never* be back to where it was militarily in Jan 2022. They had *50* + years of accumulated military equipment they've burned through in barely a year. You don't rebuild that as a struggling economy. Only the Soviets could.

There's nothing inherently more vulnerable with an Abrams than the existing tanks. If anything the Abrams is significantly less vulnerable. But no matter how many you send given a long enough time span they will all be destroyed or captured. That's the nature of combat. While
Ukraine has sidelined U.S.-provided Abrams M1A1 battle tanks in its fight against Russia. Have lost 5 of 31 already (that's $50m). "Massed armor [can be at risk] in an environment where unmanned aerial systems are ubiquitous."

Anytime someone gets mad about Ukrainians being silly in combat just tells me they've never seen combat. Part of keeping yourself from going insane is doing absolutely ridiculous things in a high risk environment. We blasted rap music during firefights, mooned the Taliban, etc.

Russia's conventional military is so heavily attrited that I don't think it's a stretch to say a well equipped/trained country like Finland could almost certainly thunder run straight to St Petersburg & capture it. Poland could probably besiege Minsk in a week. Just wild.

For those of us who fought in the GWOT it's difficult to fathom the intensity of real large scale combat. My worst firefights barely rival Ukrainians just trying to conduct this relief in place.
