I don't care what your opinion on dubs is, there is absolutely no reason a movie that was competing with BATMAN paid their actors "$150 to $600 each." Are you out of your mind?! Dub actors are amazing and deserve to be compensated a liveable wage.
The Crunchyroll merger has created the largest and most powerful anime company outside of Japan. Yet, pay rates for dubbing are among the lowest in the acting business, and the problem is even worse in anime.
I'm working on an article about women who are 30+ and into anime/manga and am doing some research. If this is you, I would love it if you could answer this anonymous survey with a few questions! 🫶🏽 RTs are appreciated as well!
The dubbing industry is the reason why anime is as mainstream as it is right now. It's the reason we can easily access merch, why there are more events, why these movies are being brought over. Heck, if it wasn't for dubs, many of us wouldn't even be into anime!
As someone who is bilingual, with parents who do not speak English, I can't praise any language dubs more. And it's just maddening to me to see how people who work so hard to make media accessible to those in different languages or with disabilities, only get paid so little.
Another reason why it bothers me when many ani- creators get on here and shit on dubs. The same ani-creators who be foaming at the mouth when a dub VA notices them or likes a tweet from them.
And then on top of that, to come online and get slandered by "so called fans." Like, if dubs aren't for you, cool. But no need to disrespect people's hard work that allows so many of us to enjoy a medium we otherwise may not be able to enjoy. 😤 Okay, I'm done.
If you're a content creator and you work full-time, don't you dare feel bad about the number of things you put out this year! Even one blog post/podcast episode/video is enough and I'm proud of you!
Went back a month before my 28th birthday and took classes every semester (+the two years of credits I had before) and graduated 2 months before I turned 30. The time is going to pass anyway, so why not do it?

Former DV/SA shelter educator here: I see the need for safe spaces for women & femme identifying ppl. However, making a page calling out “abusers” w/o knowing how this info was gathered/proved is not the way to do it. You’re putting people in danger and don’t mean the accused.
So Wendee Lee finally responded to the Anairis/Yoruichi situation, and all she's doing is attacking industry people who are comforting Anairis after the recast.
Still amazed how transparently awful so many voice actors have been this month
Real life best boy
@childishgamzeno
is so deserving of this honor. Consistently working while always speaking up for Black and POC people. ❤️ so excited to see all that’s to come for him.
One of the reasons I love Lovely Complex so much. It’s one of the most realistic portrayals of high school dating, friends to lovers, ever. All the awkwardness, miscommunication (due to being teens,) and just how cute these two are 😭
can we just talk about how endearing and realistic this kiss is?? the way he rummages through the bag to distract himself from the awkwardness, the way they’re both a disaster and don’t know how to react.. it’s so real and it makes it all the more intimate 🥺
I've noticed that in "creative" spaces (not just anitwitter bc I had this issue when I was doing lifestyle) unless you get a "co-sign" from someone others deem important, a lot of people will sleep on you. That's why it's so important to find YOUR community of supporters.
Tired: big three convos, anime hot takes, “controversial” popular anime opinions, bleach vs OP vs Naruto questions
Wired: super specific anime video essays, discussions about powers in worlds, recommendations based on what you like, world theories, ethics questions, etc
It’s easy to feel like a tiny blip in this online space, but remember no one does it like you. 100+ podcast episodes, 100+ YouTube videos, 100+ blog posts, countless cosplays, cons, and so much more, and every single thing is a success to me. I’m so grateful.
Here's a list of some amazing Black content creators you can follow, support by sharing their work, support monetarily, buy their products, merch, etc. Even if it is just a retweet, your support can go a long way! 🖤
Y’all see how a victim coming out with a SA allegation can legit ruin their own life and you still think people are out here lying on predators for clout? What clout do you gain from that?!
“Never forget who you want to become.”
Finishing off 2022 with one more win! So grateful to everyone in my corner who supported me every step of the way. I couldn’t have done it with you all! 💖
Social media can be fun but a lot of you suck the joy out of everything. You can tweet that YOU enjoy a show or character, and people in the QRTs or replies start their essays about why you're wrong and that character is awful. You can just...keep scrolling.
Today is my 7 year anniversary of becoming a content creator 🥳🥳 I can’t believe all that I’ve accomplished in 7 years and I just know there’s so much more to come. Thank you so much to everyone who has been so supportive of me on this journey. ❤️
I’m so grateful for every single view 🩷 I’ve poured so much love into this brand and I’m so proud of all the work I’ve done and the community I’ve built. I don’t take any milestone lightly. Here’s to the next 50k 🥂
What’s 4 + 4??
Today marks my 8th year as a content creator. 101K+ words written, 200+ videos, 100+ podcast episodes, & more. There’s no blueprint: I just trust my gut, write my heart out, and tap into the things I’m passionate about and make me happy 🩷 X. IV
The only time in my life I ever wanted to die was when I was 17, pregnant, & thought I had no options to have an abortion. Then a friend helped me appeal my case to a judge where I had to convince them to approve the abortion (since I couldn’t/wouldn’t) get parental consent.

Get in the robot, Shinji! We're talking magical girls, prophecies, & saving the world in giant Mechas! CLAMP's Magic Knight Rayearth is a classic shoujo that can sometimes fly under the radar but we've been doing a disservice pretending it wasn't a game changer for the genre.
This year at

@RiccoFajardo
and discuss his role as Mirio in My Hero Academia! I wanted to know how he prepared for Mirio's big moment in Season 4. Watch now:
Every month, we do a cosplay photo for my sons birth day monthaversary (idk if that’s what you call it) we’ve done Reiner from AOT, Goku, Tanjiro, and Totoro. Who do you think is next for tomorrows shoot? 🤔
My mom became a US citizen today and I’ve definitely cried a few times about it. I’m so proud.
30+ years in the country. Having to work factory jobs due to no US education/not knowing English. Making many sacrifices for the betterment of my sisters and I. I love her endlessly.
If you’re really making content off of the app, you’ll know that the “Twitter ani community” isnt really making up who is actually consuming your content. People on Twitter don’t leave Twitter. My blog and YT channel have followers that I’m sure don’t have twt accounts.
The vision boarding has been completed! Such an amazing feeling doing with your best friend and being able to discuss and speak life to your goals and plans ✨ 2023 will be amazing.
If there’s one pic that sums up our future as parents is the placement of this
@hypland
rug next to the baby swing we put together over the weekend 😂 (not the permanent location for either but hilarious nonetheless)
Truth be told, we do not know each other. We do not know what people are capable of, especially people being publicly embarrassed or called out. Interacting with people at cons or via DMs does not constitute a relationship where you know what a person will and won’t do.
2022 was the year of so many personal wins for me. Bought a house, had a baby, graduated college, and continued being the bad ass, fine ass, weeb I am 😂💞 this was one of the best years of my life. I’ve never felt so sure of myself and the path my life is on. Here’s to 2023 🍾
I’m always proud of people who push through and create, regardless of how cringy others may deem it. Nothing is more cringe than being a hater from the sidelines because you’re too scared about what people think 🤷🏽♀️
Ever since I’ve given birth, I’ve been like 100x more obsessed with myself than usual. I don’t know if it’s a mental thing, the weight loss, a combination of both, but I just love the way I look and feel. Inside and out 💞
I don't care if y'all think I'm crazy or not supporting victims, but people on here are TOO deranged. Upset the wrong person and they can take this offline VERY quickly. Most of y'all stream, post pictures tagging locations and have your city and states in your bio.
Believe it or not, we’re back baby! 🥳Run to your podcast app and listen to the latest episode of The Wonder of Anime podcast. Letting you all know where I’ve been and what’s to come ❤️ listen now:
Today I saw a tiktok from Alissa Ashley about how she stopped making YT videos about makeup because she fell out of love with it & also realized she wasn’t in love with herself/things in her life and how she took a step back from everything to fall back in love with herself. And
