@sam__rye I’d go with relationships too. But I think the weaker projects came from an impoverished understanding of what a strong relationship offers. So I’d add reciprocal relationships as the qualifier.

@theasnow If you can excuse my inadequate paraphrasing my second tangential thought is the generative way Linda Tuhiwai Smith reframes imagination. Seeing it as an essential part of creating hope, and seeing hope as a liberatory step in addressing oppression.

@theasnow I just finished a chapter on what I called slow autoethnography that was definitely at the intersection of storytelling and sensemaking. If there was a triangulation driving the decades-long inquiry, I'd say it was wondering.

@theasnow Lots to agree with. I would weave into the calls for agency and care real spaces for discussing values, assumptions, hopes and fears. Only then might it be possible to imagine transformations grounded in reciprocal exchanges. Serving people in different ways.

@LaraSPenin @cynthialawson So not surprising if someone is advocating for anything other than what the people in the room already know. The emotional threat of not-knowing, losing power, triggers the behaviour. Maybe you could ask them to share how they are feeling :-) Womensplain back at them!

@emmablomkamp Thanks @emmablomkamp. This was one event I felt too vulnerable to promote. Yet also feeling deep gratitude for the space to publicly own what I do not know, and candidly acknowledge what I have not done.

@blindpsykhe The “difficult” is why we avoid it right? Still...I’m curious as to how we learn from other disciplines to break it down - to evaluate the proximal short term outcomes while signalling the theory of change around our optimistic claims for distal transitions.

@sanderhermsen Speaking with Olga yesterday it did seem that if disciplinary humility can embrace disciplinary confidence and work from a place of generosity instead of defensiveness it will be possible to build resonance and meaningful interdisciplinary collaborations.

@blindpsykhe As Lorna said - observing what is not happening / not being discussed speaks more than what the panellists were saying.
