Both can be true at the same time, no? Language does evolve and change with the times but it’s also worth acknowledging when a “change” is really nothing that new and society hasn’t fallen apart yet.

It doesn't really matter if most people use it plural. It can still be used singular too. The most often use of a word does not mean the only use of the word.

I think this question is a misunderstanding. Transgender people have a gender that does not align with their sex, and if they want (and they won't always), they can seek to use hormones or surgery to try to align the two together. But not every trans person does this.

No it's not the same because 'cis' has nothing to do with your beliefs. The previous examples you used had to do with personal belief conflicting with some ideology and cis just isn't that. It's more analogous to using "straight" to refer to people who are not gay or bisexual.

Not true. I’ve met many, many Nazis who believe Israel should exist as a place for Jews to “go back to” as to leave them and their countries alone. Many white supremacist orgs way back supported its construction as a good response to remove the Jews from their homeland.

My point is that cis is just a term for people who are not transgender. Saying that you don't believe in transgender people doesn't change that. It isn't a "slur". Even if you don't like the word, it isn't in any way a slur.

No it doesn't. Cisgender means your gender identity is the same as your assigned sex. The gender and sex distinction is important and acknowledged both by medical professionals, mental care professionals, feminist scholars, and even legal scholars.

They would be upset if you called them mothers, of course, but Mother's Day isn't for them. The trans men/NB parents I know support Mother's Day but don't consider it for them because it's for mothers. So saying Mothers Day is different from calling trans people mothers.

I said that sex and gender were not the same, but it doesn't mean they aren't linked.

It's not based on sex drive though, it's lack of sexual attraction. Usually it means they don't experience any attraction at all. Some don't even feel vaguely interested in sex at any point in their lives. Hardly a "fantasy".

Honestly, the fact that you would think of her language as "inclusive" shows how disconnected you are from LGBT people in general. "Mother" is a more than inclusive term. Why wouldn't it be? Mother's Day is to celebrate mothers, whether they've given birth or not.

A part of human psychology. In a better world, people would identify as whatever they want and masculinity and femininity would belong to everyone. But in this world, one typically only recognizes someone as a woman if they look like one. Some people just want to look (2/?)
