I shared this photo earlier because I was so proud of my effort at the @LondonMarathon but then someone commented that “you look like a sick, ugly man”. In that moment I felt so defeated so deleted it. But now no. I am not letting the negativity of others win. I ❤️ this photo.

When I look at this photo after running the London Marathon and see my bald head I see strength and beauty. It took many years to embrace it and feel proud but today I wouldn’t change my #alopecia for anything. Bald is the norm for some and it is beautiful 🧡 @LondonMarathon

Yesterday was an emotional day. One thing I’ve learned through my #alopecia journey is to keep fighting on, believe in myself & stand in my power with my head held high. Tomorrow I am rewriting the ending to this weekend with strength at the @ChiMarathon 26.2 number 53 ❤️👟

Marathons are HARD. But, there is truly no better feeling than holding your medal after the finish line knowing the incredible accomplishment you just completed. It may of not gone perfectly BUT enjoy the moment. I hope I get to keep running races for life 🥰 @LondonMarathon

Todays long run brings my total to 104 miles this week. Very tired, but so dang happy. One of my goals leading up to my 48-hour race was to run a healthy, strong 100+ mile week. Mission accomplished. I’m feeling strong & peaking at the right time. Just under 5 weeks out! #run

Losing all of my hair at 2 due to #alopecia hasn’t always been easy. I was in a very defeated moment because being made fun of hurts. I hate being called a male and have since I was a kid. Wearing a visible difference daily isn’t always easy. But, kindness always WIN. ❤️.

Brining awareness to #alopecia and why someone may be bald hasn’t been easy. People have not always been kind, supportive or open minded. But I am going to keep fighting on for myself and many others like me. Education & empathy are so important.@TODAYshow.

I hate that I even have to say this because it truthfully is so frustrating EVERY time I am at a race and people ask me one of following. 1. No, I do not shave my head to run faster. 2. No, I am not going through treatment. It is called #Alopecia please educate yourself.

Of course, I am so excited for the @ChiMarathon this weekend, but I can’t stop thinking about my last formal 26.2 at the @LondonMarathon I am feeling emotional thinking about the marathon with so many thoughts. Thankful for running & all the supportive people in this world ❤️.
I shared this photo earlier because I was so proud of my effort at the @LondonMarathon but then someone commented that “you look like a sick, ugly man”. In that moment I felt so defeated so deleted it. But now no. I am not letting the negativity of others win. I ❤️ this photo.

48th 26.2 ❤️. SO much to say, but the biggest highlight was a kid who proudly took his hat off as he saw me coming & yelled “I’m bald too!” with the biggest smile. I stopped for a photo and it was a moment I’ll never forget. Thank you @StJude Congrats to all the finishers!! ❤️

Feeling 26.2 🏃🏼♀️. Today I ran a marathon. My training plan called for 25 miles but when I’m that close to that distance I just had to go all the way. It’s 48-hour ultra training and all about pushing limits and doing more. 37 more days! I’m feeling stronger everyday #run

This isn’t an argument I even want to begin to get into BUT I will say the amount of people saying I am trans because I don’t have hair is absolutely disgusting. Please look up the term #Alopecia and educate yourself before making such bold assumptions.

If you don’t know what #Alopecia is (which is totally ok) please take a few minutes & look it up. There are many resources, stories & information out there. I am not bothered by the people still commenting that “I still see a dude” but do yourself a favor and educate yourself.

@TheJoeySwoll to always just “brush it off” because it’s not a big deal. So, here’s your reminder to encourage and uplift others. You never know what someone is going through so choose to be the person who helps uplift someone else.

I also think back to this moment. It hurt my feelings (and the negative comments) but the kindness outweighs the negativity by a lot! In the words of THE @TheJoeySwoll “you need to do better”. People do need to be held accountable for their actions & we can’t be expected.

This past weekend during my 100 miler I had a guy say to me “come on dude - keeping running” . I kindly said “I am actually a girl. My name is Lindsay and I have #alopecia” . His response “whatever dude” . It reminded me of this moment. Beating someone never felt so sweet.
