For highly competitive players it doesn't matter that much, but I often wonder how we're supposed to motivate newer players to go to Regionals with the current entry fees (70$ @ Baltimore!). When I was younger and getting into the game that would have turned me away very quickly.

At NAIC finals, the first two turns combined took over 5 minutes, even though nothing happened except for a Nest Ball each. Very boring to watch as a viewer. Unsurprisingly, the match ended up going to time. Current prize checking rules are stupid.

Added a built-in image view to decklist pages, for use instead of the imggen link.
Your current selection will be saved in the browser, so that any time you open a decklist it will automatically display as the last used option, same as the tcgplayer/cardmarket switch.

One year ago today was the first tournament ran on Limitless 😄 Proud of how far the platform has come since then. Hopefully by this time next year we'll have Play! Pokémon back, until then let's continue enjoying the online tournaments. Thanks for all the support!

Why are judges on stream allowing for 3 minutes (!) of prize checking on turn 1? To put that into perspective, if both players did it in all 3 games, it sums up to more than a third of the total time for the bo3. That's clearly unreasonable.

With Regionals this season becoming bigger and more international, I hope we'll see a change to the card language rules, so that players from Europe and Latam can use their own cards out of region. Is there a good reason why the rule from ICs shouldn't work for Regionals as well?

Worlds in London was amazing 🤩 Didn't do great in the main event (4-4), but got top 32 in the Open for some points. Really like the deck, but Jolteon is a big problem, so might be a risky pick now. Very excited about Worlds in Japan, planning to try my best again next season!

Most of you for who it is relevant probably know, but: If you are from outside the US and somewhat regularly win money at Pokémon tournaments, don't withdraw it directly from ewallet to your bank account. Their currency exchange rate is quite bad, to put it nicely.

PTCGL beta was expanded to Germany so wanted to give the game a new try. Very first game I play, my Lucky Energy triggers infinitely until the timer runs out and it's back to my opponent turn... the bugs are still as creative as half a year ago I see. 😬

Had a great time at EUIC and locked up my Worlds Invite with a top 32 finish! 🥳
Deck was great (Tord 60). Some of the ties could have probably been avoided with more practice, but very happy with the tournament run. Also apparently made it to 16th place for the NAIC stipend. 😯

Added type support to the GLC tournaments on Limitless, since the format seems relatively popular lately. Now it's possible to look up lists by type, and use all the metagame features like in other formats.

Fun fact, after Liverpool the number of unique decklists in the database has now passed 10000 🤯
This past weekend we saw the biggest European Regionals to date, with over 1500 players competing! Giratina came close a 3rd big win in a row, but in the end the winning deck was the same as at last season's Liverpool Regionals: Mew VMAX.

If you want to import your previously created decklists directly into PTCGL, this will make it easier.
If you have previously built lists with Japanese versions of the new cards in the deck builder, you can use the "Replace Japanese Prints" option in the Tools menu to swap them out for the ones from Temporal Forces.

I don't understand why are lot of people are defending the PTCGO devs here, they did an objectively bad job at this update and there's no explanation of why this one in particular would break the game engine in so many ways.

I believe that of all the ways one could cheat at a tournament, marked cards has got to be the least common one, and yet players are expected to constantly stress about the condition of their sleeves or else risk serious penalties. It's stupid.
Full response later (probably in a yt vid) but wanted to say that while I think the DQ was incredibly harsh, I don’t think it was entirely unfair, the judge put a lot of emphasis on my experience, which I personally don’t agree should create the expectation of perfection 1/4

A lot of people in the comments misunderstanding this concept. Of course it's impossible to win 100% of your games. However, your long-term win rate is determined by the quality of your decks and play, not by luck, and that's the metric you should look at.
One of the biggest mistakes you can make as a Pokemon TCG player is to blame a loss on luck. You are cheating yourself out of a learning experience and growth as a player. Look for any way to hold yourself responsible for the loss, tie, or overall unsatisfactory record.

Not sure if this is even a serious post, but in case it is, you're just wrong. Azul (like some other top players) might not care much about the broader Pokémon franchise, but is very much a fan of the Pokémon TCG, and has played for many years before money ever entered the scene.

Post-rotation worlds makes sense, because it makes the event more exciting and relevant for viewers. From a competitive standpoint, I don't think I'm a fan of it though, small formats often feel like they lack the consistency and depth that bigger ones can offer.

One of the most interesting cards in a while. Finally a comeback mechanic, but unlike N who was also a consistency card, this takes up actual deck space. Being useless early game gives it a good balance I think.

Not a judge, but I don't feel like *intentionally* playing out a long turn when having game in hand is or should be considered ok under the current rules.
You can't blame the opponent for not scooping, since they don't know if you have the game winning card or not.

Categorizing Lost Box decks in this format is so hard 😭 It's basically 1 big spectrum from full Mirage Box with no Sableye to pure Single Prize SableZard, and there's a succesful list for every single step of the way. Where do you draw the lines, if any?

Made Top 8 at the Tablemon Challenge yesterday (SSH-on). The deck works well and Cinccino is great, almost felt like playing with Zoroark again. Format has been fun so far 😄

Played double Cups with Pikarom this weekend (Cologne list - Cynthia & Absol + Volkner & Pachirisu). By far my favorite deck in this format. Got top 8 on Saturday and won the one on Sunday, which means I now have my invite. :D

Pokémon Professors: a section on the discussion of penalties has been added to the Tournament Handbook.
If you have to ask if you should comment on a penalty publicly, the answer is almost always no.
