On a less scary note- new books came in! We replaced many of our most beloved titles with @PermaBoundBooks nearly indestructible bindings! Perfect for our Pre-K friends. 📚

On the final day of #HispanicHeritageMonth, I am celebrating Pura Belpré, the first Puerto Rican librarian in NYC, she championed bilingual literacy and shared the richness of Latino culture through her stories. @KinkeadeECS @IrvingLibraries

School libraries and librarians aren't just here to serve students, we serve staff too! When an instuct. assist. needed help with a college assignment, he knew the library was the best place to find support. @IrvingLibraries @KinkeadeECS #IrvingISDUnite

My, oh my it's apple pie! We read The Apple Pie Tree, then followed the process of picking, cleaning, and "baking" an apple pie! Ss practiced fine motor skills, counting, and learned how to follow a recipe. @KinkeadeECS @IrvingLibraries

After reading about robots, @Rivera_Prek class got an introduction to @Sphero indi cars! They used their knowledge of 🚦 to get the car moving, but purple was their favorite color code. 🔊☝️for squeals of joy! @IISD_iLearn @IrvingLibraries

Family Night @ the Library was a success! Thank you to all the families that came out and participated. Families enjoyed a bilingual story time followed by literacy based activities, including a make and take to practice story retelling at home! @IrvingLibraries @KinkeadeECS

At a PLC, a colleague concluded the meeting with a reminder that your 👄 can be your best friend, or your worst enemy (self talk and with others). It's a rough morning, but seeing this pic in my office reminded me to be kind to myself. Thank you teachers for supporting me too. ❤️
