Can I just say a massive thank you to the 100’s of people who have been in touch with me by calls, texts, emails, tweets etc regarding William, too many to reply to individually, but neither I nor Williams family will ever forget your kindness. Like so many I am heartbroken.
Received a call today from a very good friend and someone who is always looking out for others. That person was none other than
@RealCFrampton
who informed me he wanted to donate his robe from his recent Windsor Park fight to the William Dunlop fundraiser, what a class act 👍
Williams mum Louise has asked me to announce that any friends or fans of William are welcome to call at her home at 159 Gracehill Road Ballymoney to pay their respects. Williams funeral will be on Wednesday 1pm at Garryduff church Ballymoney.
No words can describe the unbearable pain the family & friends of the 5 year old boy who lost his life in the Braid River in Ballymena today must be suffering. My thoughts are also with the emergency services who did all they could, it just leaves an awful feeling of emptiness.
My Christmas message to all our politicians in Northern Ireland, “Identify and recognise all the points on which we all agree on, then accept & respect the few issues we disagree on and get back to bloody work in Stormont.
Two years ago today we lost one of the nicest young men and probably the most popular motorcycle roadracer in the paddock in William Dunlop. I think of William a lot and we all miss him terribly, my thoughts today are with his family and Janine and the children, RIP Willie D
Surely to God if our local politicians ever needed a proper kick up the backside to get back into government then the dreadful news from Londonderry last night should provide that.
I haven’t the foggiest about the rules in rugby, but I didn’t see one phoney, one diver, or one cheat in that Ireland v All Blacks game, all I saw was raw passion, sheer commitment, and honesty. I hope some of the modern day footballers all over the planet take heed 👍
I’ve put together a wee committee to help organise a fundraising golf day in September for the family of the late William Dunlop. The exact date and details will be published next week. We’ll need individual hole and overall sponsors etc so please watch this space, thank you.
Disappointed but not unduly surprised that none of our normal armchair critics saw fit to publicly congratulate all those involved with last weeks tremendously successful
@northwest200
& the contribution some 80,000 of the roadracing family made to the local community.

Williams funeral is today at 1pm at Garryduff Church Ballymoney and everyone is welcome. It’s not a very big church so if I could appeal to everyone to please give the large family circle the time & space to be seated first it would be much appreciated, I thank you.
Is it me or has the hype surrounding GCSE results gone mad? Surely our kids shouldn’t be subjected to such public exposure or worse still considered as failures at such a young age? A decent level of education accompanied by the same amount of common sense and they’ll be OK👍
One of the nicest lads I ever had the pleasure of becoming friends with, I just checked his last message to me and it was “Thanks LB”, typical of his mannerisms. My thoughts & prayers are with his family & friends on what is a dreadful night for our sport, RIP Dan .
Thinking of my late great friend RD who would have been celebrating his 60th birthday today. We travelled the globe together and he is still my number one 🏁, rest in peace ROB.
Delighted and so proud to be grandad to another wee grandchild and delighted for my youngest son Robert and his partner Bronagh on the birth of their wee daughter tonight 👍😊
Today I have lost a man I loved dearly, my uncle Jackie Graham. When I lost my father when I was 2 years old he always looked after me. He was just like me, he hadn’t got a lot but what he had he always shared with me. Also a genius at setting up motorbikes, best ever, RIP JG
It’s been an awful year for a sport I love dearly ( roadracing) and I’ve lost friends who I will never forget, so can I just wish everyone out there a very happy and healthy 2019, take care and God Bless you all.
Dreadful news that Davy Morgan has rode his final race today at the TT races. I was speaking with Davy a few weeks ago at the NW200 and little did I think that would be our last chat. Davy was one of the good guys who had huge respect amongst the road race family, RIP my friend
I detest people who hijack our great sporting occasions and try to turn them into a political football, paticularly those who wouldn’t know if a football was blew up or stuffed. If you can’t say something good then just do us all a favour & keep your nose out of it.
I don’t even really drink, but I might just head to a wee quiet pub somewhere later and have a pint just to celebrate history being made by a lad from the toon, I am so so proud 🙏👍🏁
This great wee country of ours is packed to the gills with good decent ordinary people from all walks of life, creeds and classes, and all they’re crying out for is some decent politicians with even a ‘gleed’ of common sense to run the bloody place, is that too much to ask?
My father died when I was 2 years old ( he was only 25), but I was blessed to have my mother Maud who was a diamond and was left to rear us with very little, think of you every day mum but especially today on Mothers Day, love you always, RIP
I’m off to Burkina Faso in Africa today to help try and solve a drinking water problem, big thanks to my own children for donating some kids clothes & gifts for the children over there, so whoever’s in charge get the kettle on 😊👍
Ten years ago today I lost someone who was like a younger brother to me, my thoughts & prayers are with Roberts family today, RIP my friend because we all still miss you terribly 🏍🏁👍
Today on the anniversary of this diamond of a young man’s passing, my thoughts are very much with Louise, Michael, Daniel, Janine and the girls, and the family circle, you may be gone but you will never be forgotten William 🙏🏁.
Surely to God anyone who harms, abuses or murders a defenceless innocent child should never see the light of day again, or am I losing the plot?. I honestly don’t know what type of warped world we live in nowadays, cut out the excuses and make the punishment fit the crime.
Before the bedlam starts this week can I take this opportunity to wish each and everyone of my Twitter followers a very happy, peaceful and healthy Christmas😊👍. Please remember to keep a wee eye on those who may be alone or need a word of comfort and may God bless you all 👍
12 years ago I lost a very special friend who was like a younger brother to me and although I know I’m biased he’s still my favourite ever Roadracer , RIP Rob, I’ll see ye again in a bigger town 👍
I am in total agreement with the number of Northern Ireland fans who have been in touch with me with regard ticket prices for tonight’s game. We’re in the middle of a pandemic and this would have been a great opportunity for the IFA to say thanks for fans loyalty, they failed.
Enough is enough, the police need to take the kid gloves off once and for all, and anyone caught inflicting death and serious injury on innocent harmless children, needs eliminated on the spot, no ifs or buts, no excuses and no cushy way out, otherwise law and order is finished.
60 years ago today Northern Ireland unearthed a proper legend and hero in the form of the one and only Harry Gregg. So today my thoughts are with my good friend 'big H', his family and his friends on his emotional return to Old Trafford.
Well the day has arrived and the thermals are on for the start of my annual Black Santa cross community charity sit-out in my wee toon of Ballymoney, so if you’ve a few spare bob please come and say hello, my charities would be delighted😊👍
Can I just say a massive thank you to everyone to contributed to my annual Black Santa sit out. Another new record this year of £11,220 which was divided equally and handed over to my 5 charities tonight, it's you and they who are the stars👍
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, if there’s gonna be a border in the Irish Sea I ain’t gettin out to open the boot for no customs man, period.
Once again Sport in Northern Ireland has given us all a feel good factor and a wee additional spring in our step, this time it’s our football team, just where would we be without it.
Fabulous, if anyone was to overtake the great Joeys record then it can be no better than another Dunlop. Michael has created history and I know a few people looking down who will be so proud, working class to world class, and he’s one of our own, 👏🏁👍
Absolutely over the moon for my good friend Harry Gregg who has been awarded the OBE in the Queens new years honours list. I can think of no one more deserving of this honour and this country should be so proud of him, one of our genuine all time greats .
Isn’t
@jonathanrea
different class?. What an immensely talented yet totally modest young man, and what a great ambassador for all that is good about Northern Ireland.
#hardybreed
It’s with a very heavy heart that Ballymoney will say it’s final farewell to one of the finest ladies ever to walk it’s streets May Dunlop tomorrow. A long time very dear friend of our family and someone who will be fondly remembered by us all. RIP May 🙏. LB
Today my thoughts are with the Gregg family as we celebrate the 1st anniversary of Harry’s passing. A man like no other and I miss him terribly, they just don’t make people like Harry Gregg anymore so thanks for all the memories my friend.
8 flights in 3 weeks which has had me in France, Belgium, North Africa and lastly Lithuania now sees me back in my wee toon of Ballymoney & oh boy could I murder the toasted heel of a big plain loaf with a drop o butter & cheese off the wedge, great to be home👍
I love and treasure my children and grandchildren dearly, and let there be no doubt whatsoever, if I ever got anyone trying to do any of them serious harm then believe me the police would not be required, and I’d gladly take my chances in a court of law thereafter.
Some parents drive their kids on and on for further education and for what? This country is managed by some of the most intelligent people yet the vast majority of them haven’t an ounce of common sense as the last number of months has proved. Just settle for a bit of both 👍
Found 9 of these young lads at a school way out in the bush outside Burkina Faso today incredibly wearing football shirts from the “Beckett’s Soccer Academy” which I sent out to Africa almost 10 years ago. 😳⚽️
Dreadfully sad news at the passing of Tommy Breslin, one of life’s gentlemen both on and off the pitch, my heartfelt prayers and condolences to his family and friends.
Before the mayhem starts can I wish all my Twitter followers and friends out there a very happy, peaceful and above all healthy new year, stay safe and remember to keep a wee eye out for those feeling lonely or perhaps needing a wee word of comfort, and may God Bless you all 👍
What a fabulous performance by
@CrusadersFC
tonight at Molineux , probably as good as I have ever witnessed by an Irish League Club, made me proud to be from Northern Ireland and done the Irish league proud.
Whilst Education is very important it’s not the be all and end all, just take a look at some of our (knee deep in education) intellectuals in Stormont for instance. A reasonable level of education and an even greater level of common sense will see you through 😉👍
We have reared and produced so many World class sportspeople in this wee country we are proud to call home and irrespective of what
@RealCFrampton
decides regarding his future he will most definitely go down as one of our greatest ever, humble & modest, what a credit to us all 👍
A day of strange and mixed emotions for me at the unveiling of the statue to William Dunlop. Filled with lots of pride at the achievements of such a modest and tremendously talented young road racer, yet if I’m honest I’ve had nothing other than a very heavy heart all day.
On behalf of our committee and Williams family can I just say a massive thank you to everyone who contributed in any way to our William Dunlop Golf Classic fundraiser the proceeds of which I was able to hand over to the family today, may God Bless you all, we are forever grateful
That’s it, I’ll soon be on my way to ‘the Port’to help
@TourismNIreland
show visitors and guests why this wee country of ours and its people really are the best on the planet and that sport is such a wonderful common denominator.⛳️😊👍
My thoughts today are very much with Williams mum Louise, brothers Michael & Daniel, partner Janine and the girls, plus the wider Dunlop family as we mark the 5th anniversary of his passing, a diamond of a fella who is sadly missed and who was taken much too soon🙏🏁
That’s the well dedicated in the deep outback of Burkina Faso, it will serve fresh drinking water to 150 children alone, it’s out in the wilds but they are so gracious and appreciative 👍
Thinking on my late dear friend Harry Gregg and all the others who lost their lives or suffered injuries both physical or mental. Today my thoughts are also with Harry’s family who I know will also be deep in thought, may god bless them all.
To all my friends on Twitter and before all the usual system manure hits the fan, can I wish you all a very happy and healthy Christmas, stay safe and may God bless you all 😊👍x
My heart goes out to the families and friends of the kids who tragically lost their lives or got seriously injured in last nights dreadful chain of events in Cookstown, as a parent that type of news coming to the house is unthinkable.
Today my thoughts are with Carolyn and the entire Gregg family circle as we mark the 2nd anniversary of this great mans passing, a treasured friend who I miss on a daily basis, RIP Henry 👍
There is a stinking man who is clean humdinging with BO just sat down beside me on the train, my god how hard is it to wash below the arms and rub or spray on some deodorant?
Hard to believe we’re only days away from the first International Roadrace of the season at the
@northwest200
, just to hear that screaming pitch of racing motorcycles across the coast road on a still evening is a sound to behold, dry roads please 👍
#hardybreed
.
I don’t think I’ve ever known a country like ours with so many well educated intellectuals but so many of them lacking an ounce of common sense (or gumption as we call it in the toon). Honestly, what chance has our children of knowing what it’s like to live a normal life ?
Today I lost a really true friend with the passing of Mark Jamieson,my thoughts and prayers are with his daughter Lynsey, his family circle and friends, the world has lost a wee gentleman.
I definitely don’t want a border in the middle of the Irish Sea because there is no way whatsoever I’ll be getting out to let anyone look in the car boot 👍
Stop pressurising kids into meeting unreasonable educational goals, it’s not the be all and end all, just look at the mess some of our (knee deep in education) intellectuals in government have us in. A decent level of education plus the same amount of common sense will suffice👍
