In our latest Inspired to Make video series, we take you behind scenes at Offerman Woodshop, a small wood collective led by Emmy award-winning actor, writer and woodworker Nick Offerman. Over the course of four videos, we explore the craftsmanship and personal journeys of the makers it supports along with its relationship with Would Works, a non-profit social enterprise that employs and trains people experiencing homelessness in the craft of woodworking. In the first video, Nick Offerman and OWS Shop Manager, Sarah, tell the backstory of Offerman Woodshop and showcase some noteworthy projects.

Inspired by a vintage tool in the Lee Valley collection, this mallet combines the best properties of metal and wood striking tools. It has the heft needed to deliver effective blows, but won’t damage wooden tool handles or workpieces. The brass head has wooden striking faces set at an angle to the handle axis to prevent glancing blows. Shop our Veritas Cabinetmaker's Mallet, link in bio.
