There are 160000 lines of assembly (.asm and .S files) in FFmpeg.
Functions mostly implemented in C but with a few assembly overrides for various platforms that they felt could be sped up with assembly.

They are nearing AWS level UX at this stage... just compete with them on UX (anthropic artifacts or perplexity is good examples of competing with them on AI UX).

i made webfiddle. net as a chrome extension IDE...
Made one example of an extension replacing images with cats.
Had to get around the restrictions editing people sites so as part of that i made a proxy and everyone used it only as a plain VPN and still does to this day lol...

my Python sites all near free tier App Engine... over 25k people a day... Have a python based search engine too with oldschool nltk stemming/synonym set overlap metrics like tfidf.
Considering polars+pytorch+porting the expensive parts to mojo though as ive pushed it pretty far.

On pricing I haven't beat self hosted behind a cloudflared tunnel on a box in my office.
A bit of an expensive up front investment but E.g. for AI retrieval or a database you can get box and get a PCIe 2 terabyte SSD with extremely fast read and write now and likely won't

Directml, onnx, webnn webGPU all moving pretty fast too. so one day this will be true, but then it's still about the speed and 45min difference in this test.
