As we kick off #BlackHistoryMonth, we take time to reflect on the progress we’ve made in LA Unified and reaffirm our commitment to providing resources that uplift our students to be successful. Black history is celebrated all year long as we continue to affirm and honor our Black scholars, staff, families, community leaders, and ancestors for their contributions. This month we also commemorate the third anniversary of our unanimously passed ‘Black Student Excellence through Educator Diversity, Preparation and Retention’ to respond to the unique challenges faced by our Black students, employees, and families. Ensuring a diverse workforce, particularly with our Black teachers and leaders, is a critical component for our students’ success. #BlackHistoryMonth #WeAreBD7 #LAUSD #DEI #diversity #diversityequityinclusion
