I switched to posting on Mastodon: I will still check Twitter every now and then, but more in a reader mode than active publisher. Maybe this will change back later, but for now this is the flow I am comfortable with.

@playdate I have contacted PlayDate support 2 weeks ago about changing an address, but no response since. I have recently moved and I am worried that my PlayDate will be shipped to the wrong address in the end. Is there any chance you could take a look? Thank you!

UPS website deleted all 90 items I manually described for customs 2 (!) times in a row without any kind of warning. After that, it got stuck in an error state. How the fuck filling an online form is the hardest step of sending 6 boxes abroad?

Our bodies have hardcoded interpreters called ribosomes, which read special bytecode to create proteins. I mean, they even have a zero byte at the end to mark termination of the program...biology is insane.

Regarding things being old - cannot say the same for my fountain pen though! My roommate decided that disassembled fountain pen looks a lot like a piece of trash and threw it away when I was out of the country πŸ˜„

@Jalecko_ @Raspberry_Pi That is an option! However, I wanted something which can be deployed on "vanilla" Pico.

@sdelang_asu @Raspberry_Pi Cool, thanks for all the insight! This turned out to be significantly larger than the original weekend project I scoped πŸ˜… Great work with yocto-8!

@sdelang_asu @Raspberry_Pi Interesting! Which lua runtime you are using? I have tried and collectgarbage("count") consistently shows 300-400 KB every frame on celeste classic. It is measured on my laptop though, it might be different on the device itself.

@Raspberry_Pi However, it seems that @sdelang_asu was able to solve the RAM issue with some dark magic in yocto-8. Impressive! I was hoping for a more straightforward solution, but 264KB of RAM is 264KB of RAM in the endπŸ˜„

@lexaloffle In case there is, maybe I can rewrite it outside of .wasm fileπŸ€” I guess native code would take less space / would be optimized more aggressively than the WASM alternative. If that is true, I would be able to reduce .wasm only to the cart-specific part and call it instead.

Another "revolutionary" #embedded debugging technique I discovered is putting a led blink after each line of code to see if it reached there πŸ˜… Cannot wait for another Pico to arrive to setup a proper hardware debugging with probe-rs πŸ”¨

Sure enough, after I specified the correct pin, the board started blinking at me πŸŽ‰ Does anybody know what was producing this sound? Was that a crystal oscillator on the board or something else? n/n
