@playdate I have contacted PlayDate support 2 weeks ago about changing an address, but no response since. I have recently moved and I am worried that my PlayDate will be shipped to the wrong address in the end. Is there any chance you could take a look? Thank you!

@Jalecko_ @Raspberry_Pi That is an option! However, I wanted something which can be deployed on "vanilla" Pico.

@sdelang_asu @Raspberry_Pi Cool, thanks for all the insight! This turned out to be significantly larger than the original weekend project I scoped π
Great work with yocto-8!

@sdelang_asu @Raspberry_Pi Interesting! Which lua runtime you are using? I have tried and collectgarbage("count") consistently shows 300-400 KB every frame on celeste classic. It is measured on my laptop though, it might be different on the device itself.

@Raspberry_Pi However, it seems that @sdelang_asu was able to solve the RAM issue with some dark magic in yocto-8. Impressive! I was hoping for a more straightforward solution, but 264KB of RAM is 264KB of RAM in the endπ

@lexaloffle In case there is, maybe I can rewrite it outside of .wasm fileπ€ I guess native code would take less space / would be optimized more aggressively than the WASM alternative. If that is true, I would be able to reduce .wasm only to the cart-specific part and call it instead.

Another "revolutionary" #embedded debugging technique I discovered is putting a led blink after each line of code to see if it reached there π
Cannot wait for another Pico to arrive to setup a proper hardware debugging with probe-rs π¨
