This is something I will say Oscar was in the wrong for today;
That move he pulled was WAY too risky and if Lando hadn't pulled away they 100% would've crashed out.
I'm sure there will be much discussion about it in the debrief, because that was a millimetre away from being
lando: we had a big gap behind and between us two cars theres no risk. i feel like he got way too close for comfort. we both easily couldve been out in that corner if i braked one meter later[..] it is what it is, oscar drove a good race and so did charles
so not only did lando know he was gonna give the place back eventually; he was just keeping it until the end to prove his point, justifiably so...
Oscar also said he would've done the same thing if the roles were reversed.
it was never about each other, it was about the team.
If what he's saying is true, hear me out....
What if they had this conversation this morning, or earlier in the weekend, and Oscar knew they were gonna be prioritising Lando from Baku - onwards.
What if that's the reason during the drivers parade; Lando was so focused on the
Oscar is a racing driver, he's gonna do everything in his power to achieve the best result possible for himself EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
Unless McLaren explicitly instructed him to help lando/concede position, why would he?
For the benefit of the constructors, should Oscar have
If the team allowed them to race and Oscar followed that directive, then why is he primarily being held responsible? I understand the frustration, but if you tell a racing driver he's allowed to go for the win, that's exactly what he's going to do unless instructed otherwise.
if *they* possessed any critical thinking skills they'd realise that those videos are filmed in February at the start of the season (on the same day as the Sky F1 intro and the photoshoots for the on screen graphics)
- a work day which literally begins at the crack of dawn and
@GETlTWRONG
and livestream it!
I just know George would try and run that shit like the army only to get so overwhelmed by Alex, Max, Lando and Charles causing the upmost amount of chaos
Some information about the summer break in case people don't know;
During the summer break, we have the summer shutdown - a 14 day period in which Formula 1 teams are prohibited from ANY work whatsoever - that means no testing, no manufacturing, no meetings or planning, etc.
@charlclerc
yeah i think so cause he talked about how it was nice to wake up in his own bed, also that he doesn't have a car or any mode of transport there yet so he's been walking everywhere 🤷♀️
I've lost some respect for Will today. He's a Mclaren employee first yes but he is also someone Lando considers a friend.
The way he manipulated Lando over the radio in such a high stress situation was unbelievably wrong, ESPECIALLY knowing how vulnerable and honest LN is about
Just a PSA;
Lando needed to cover Oscar for the Undercut BECAUSE he needs Oscar to win this race if he can't - in order to protect Lando from Charles as much as possible in the WDC
Those team orders were essential for Lando's benefit. That's why he was so willing to help.
The way lando kept reiterating, when he was answering questions in the press conference, that both him and Oscar hold so much respect and TRUST for each other really just proves how this entire situation hasn't and WON'T shake their relationship in any way.
They are THE
Ted to Oscar: "You look relatively hairless, as a- as a man..."
Lando: "He shaves 😏"
Oscar: "...Y-yeah, this is six months work! 😅"
HELP ME WHAT WAS THIS CONVERSATION 💀💀
Most of us have lost someone dear at some point in our lives; we know how much it can hurt & it takes time to be okay again.
Grief isn't linear, always keep that in mind. You never know what a person is going through; how they're feeling inside.
Tell someone you love them today.
The duality of Lando doing a full photoshoot and massive fan event for his helmet reveal...
compared to Oscar filming a 45 second video in his room that looks like it was filmed on a potato is frankly ridiculous & i wouldn't change a thing
That's my team and they're perfect 😭
@queenpeepo
And I entirely agree this was not a 'team player' kind of move. Oscar wasn't thinking about the team here, he was thinking of himself - fighting for himself.
But what i'm saying is that unless the team tell him not to pull these kind of moves, why wouldn't he? they're giving
i've never heard a bad word against Colapinto (pls let me know if I'm mistaken)
so what we're not gonna do is give him hate for this. It's not his fault & we should be happy for him that he has a chance in F1 however briefly
it's just awful that it comes at the expense of Logan
it's
@landostattoo
i took this screenshot and im sick of hiding it. the behaviour is disturbing and has made not just myself, but many of my moots unbelievably uncomfortable over the course of a long time.
i don't condone this behaviour in any way, shape or form. It's wrong.
I don't think they're mad at each other, I think they're both angry with their respective situations.
Lando is angry that he had a terrible race.
Oscar is angry that he had a great race but still couldn't win.
they'll be fine. they'll talk it through and they'll be fine.
IT WASNT THE TEAMS FAULT
lando got the yellow flag notification on his dash and therefore he had to lift, which meant his lap was immediately screwed.
It wasn't the teams fault, it was bad luck.
