I recently made a mistake at work that would potentially create a hardship for one of our staff members. When I texted him about my screwup, this was his response: “We will figure it out! That’s what we do!” I feel lucky to have colleagues so flexible and resilient!

We have the power to choose. ❤️

My thoughts on classroom management: Posted rules don’t matter. The only ones that count R those you enforce. Embarrassing kids leads 2 disrespect. Don’t do that. Good lessons are more effective than good rules. Everything is easier if you build relationships with the kids.

This is me in the 8th grade. Middle school was hard. It’s important that educators never forget what it’s like to be a kid.

Here's to all the teachers who are flying under the radar... not getting much attention. Their engaging lessons aren’t on TikTok. Their cool interactions with kids aren’t captured on YouTube. But they’re still crushing it. And they’re making a difference for a lot of students.

A student just told me: “You’re everywhere.” That fired me up! Cause that’s sort of a goal of mine.
