As part of last night’s game, Aisha Visram worked for the Kings as an assistant athletic trainer. She is believed to be the first female to work a regular season NHL game behind the bench in any capacity.
Edmonton's Darnell Nurse has been suspended for 1 game for head-butting Phillip Danault last night, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today. The incident occurred at 19:50 of the second period.

reintroduce their heritage 90’s era jersey,
#adizero
style! They’ll be worn twice this year. More to come shortly. Several quick shots, courtesy of the team:
John Stevens: "In my opinion Drew Doughty is the best player at his position in the world, and he defended that play exactly the way we’d expect him to defend that play, and ... as long as I’m on the earth, I’m going to agree to disagree with that decision"
Jake Muzzin, one of my favorites to talk to and someone who grew into a real leadership position. LA brass saw him as a top-30 defenseman in the league. Blake called him "an elite defenseman" on the call. I speak for many when I say he'll be missed in LA.
Drew Doughty will play in his 1,000th regular-season game tonight at UBS Arena against the New York Islanders. He was the second overall pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
The LA Kings have relieved Head Coach John Stevens and assistant coach Don Nachbaur of their duties. There will be an official release with additional information soon.
Love watching this celebration. Love watching Ovi. Happy for the Caps and their fans. Never gets old when a team wins for the first time, especially after years of heartbreak.

officially recall Carl Grundstrom from AHL-Ontario. Expected to make NHL debut tonight in Arizona. Opening at yesterday's practice was on a line with Kempe, Toffoli.
Fast Fact: Troy Grosenick stopped 33 of 34 shots for the win in his first game with the Kings and his second career NHL win. Grosenick's last win came in his NHL debut on 11-16-14, 6 years/112 days ago. That is the 7th longest stretch between regular season wins in NHL history.
Tonight is Luis Vizcaino’s last regular season Kings game. For more than 1700 games, dating back to 1980, Luis has been a great teammate of the LA Kings. Enjoy these final Zam rides, Luis, and thank you!!!

broadcast booth tomorrow, Thursday."
Best wishes to Ben Bishop who officially announced his retirement today due to health issues with his knee. Ben played with the Kings for part of the 2016-17 season.
Man, oh, man. Vilardi in LA, Martinez in Vegas. Both scored within seconds of each other. When we die, our bodies become the grass, and the antelope eat the grass. And so we are all connected in the great Circle of Life.
GOAL. Drive from the point by Eakin that Vasilevskiy kicks out and Martinez slips in from the point and bangs in the rebound.
Of course he did.

On this date in 2012, an estimated 250,000 fans crowded into downtown Los Angeles to see the Los Angeles Kings championship parade with the Stanley Cup before a rally was held at a packed STAPLES Center.

Cool moment: Winnipegger Brendan Leipsic, who wears

in honor of Teemu Selanne's Jets tenure (stick tap,

), just walked off the elevator, and waiting in the family area with an enormous smile and a bear hug was Teemu.
So, some fun news to share: I'm taking a hiatus from

from February 4-26 to provide play-by-play for NBC Olympics’ 4K coverage of the men’s and women’s hockey tournaments. The wonderful

get huge help from the Canucks, who beat the Ducks, 4-1. LA opened the day in the first wild card. STL won, pushing them into the second wild card. They’ll end the night moving up into third place - without having played.
