Pitchers, don’t get caught up in the velo, it’s a plus to have, but that doesn’t make you a well rounded pitcher. Holding runners, controlling emotions, repeatable mechanics, making in game adjustments, command of all three pitches, makes you projectable pitcher.

Internal/external movements patterns with our back side. Treat the backside as if it’s our motor, don’t rely on front side. Stay in hip hinge, when ready to go create hip/shoulder separation, last to go is your arm & trunk (upper body) creating a whip feeling.

It is a MUST to incorporate more situational practices at the youth level. The basic understanding of Baseball needs to be mastered at the youth level. Proper base running, situational hitting, hitting approaches, pickoffs, pitch sequences to setup hitters, and being a teammate.

I find it disappointing that youth baseball players practice at most twice a week, then are expected to perform at a high level on the weekend of their tournament. Practice is the most important thing a youth athlete needs. It’s key to long term success.
