The chatter around DOGE made me dig up research I did a year ago aggregating failed gov procurements projects. It really makes my blood boil. Accenture earns $300m to advise on hiring CBP staff, canceled after hiring 22 FTE. Deloitte wins contract for $33m. Cost balloons to $522m (1482%). CA Auditor estimates $1.9B to finish the project, so CA cancels it. Bid re-issued, Tyler wins new bid for $170m. Deloitte earns combined $165m to admin CA unemployment. System suffers est. $11B in fraud. What companies are the Palantir/Anduril's of civic tech (benefits; health & human services; ERP; payroll; etc?) Our country desparately needs them.

That's not right. spitz + @nntaleb would disagree. Mathematically, this is b/c net returns aren't iid, but follow compounding (even if events themselves are iid). Image attached is what happens when you don't hedge effectively, even on a positive EV bet. Cost-effective insurance isn't a drag, it allows you to compound faster. Few

@thorstenball Would love to see a stream. Last time I used aider it spent about 5 minutes thinking to generate a single empty file.

@MartinShkreli What are your thoughts on $ALT? Also creating a GLP-1 drug, initial results are same weight loss, but more fat loss, less lean muscle loss, compared to Ozem/Weg

I’ve never seen someone interject “actually” more times per sentence than this. He knows he’s bullshitting.
Here's Vivek Ramaswamy in 2015, scamming the public on his Alzheimer drug that had already failed drug trials 4 times before he bought it for pennies. He rebranded it & took the company public in an IPO. Then he & his family dumped $2 billion of stock before it failed again.

@MartinShkreli @awscloud @googlecloud @Azure Azure has some niceties, and their support is surprisingly decent. Their web interface is one of the most horribly built and designed software I’ve ever seen. And their API documentation is somehow worse than the incredibly low bar that AWS/GCP set.

@KennethCassel Lot of rich people think a lot of non-rich people are subhuman. I think most humans in general are just built to empathize a lot more with in group, and sit somewhere between low empathy to active animosity towards out group.

@KennethCassel What constitutes proof of work? GH history on OSS (and even then, that can be faked for indy projects), maybe authorship/mentions on company-owned blogs, seems like the only ground truth signal (excluding live work & social proof)
