@Lunnzies @Adelgary @NikTekOfficial Yes, high res textures and nanite models are a problem. However, this points more to poor optimization than a technology whose only purpose is to cause a certain GPU maker to jack up their prices.

@AnarchaOwlet @Lunnzies @NikTekOfficial I think it's a good preview of what next gen is going to be, but the marketing is pulling everyone on both sides of the transaction to support it *now*. It feels like we're being forced to use something that's in the Alpha stage of development.

I totally get this, but as a customer, handing over credit card info for trying something out exceeds my friction tolerance. If no free tier, then a straight up purchase with the possibility of refund within 7 days.
founder here: requiring a credit card is usually a very easy way to fight scammers since a lot of āpremium featuresā have higher usage costs (AI, emails, sms, etc.) and a free trial without card can be easier abused than with KYC

@Lunnzies @NikTekOfficial Yes the technology is here but is it mature enough for the kind of push we've been seeing throughout the industry? Even the 5090 takes a considerable hit in performance with path tracing turned on (and all that AI stuff turned off).
