PALISADES FLOODING Intense rainfall sends mud, rocks, debris down Palisades Drive. Flow swept away an LA City traffic control car from the center of Sunset Boulevard slamming it up against the curb. Driver was not hurt, but it shows you the power of nature.@knxnews

HUGHES FIRE at 10,200 acres, 14% containment, 4000 firefighters, engines, bulldozers and aircraft preparing for 2nd day of action. Mid-day winds, 20mph, gusts to 35mph. Low humidity, Red Flag conditions to continue until Friday. @knxnews

HUGHES FIRE 9500 plus acres burning to South and west. Fire on ridgelines of terrain and canyons east of the city of Castaic. No homes affected although crews, dozers & helitankers managed to stop flames on edge of RV park. No vehicles lost. Humidity at 15%. Winds calm,@knxnews

HUGHES FIRE at more than 9400 acres in less than 6 hours and is still burning in canyons to the east and south of Castaic. Zero percent containment and even with phoschek lines laid there is brush ready to burn. 31,000 people under evacuation orders. @knxnews

HUGHES FIRE now at over 8000 acres in 5 hours. Fir units deployed to protect homes in Castaic and to prevent fire from jumping Interstate 5 and heading for Santa Clarita. Still minimal containment. Air drops are ongoing.

Palisades Fire. Caltrans crews removing brush and trees for nearly a mile on PCH north of McClure Tunnel, reducing the fuel load in the area so as to reduce risk of future fires reaching this area. @knxnews

Palisades Fire body of the first confirmed victim of the Palisades fire is removed from a home in the 21,000 block of Pacific Coast Highway. Next of Kim are being notified, a DNA check may be needed for positive identification. @knxnews

Palisades Fire location is 21,000 block of Pacific Coast Highway. A missing person’s report turned into a welfare check by sheriff deputies at this home. Human remains now being recovered by corners investigators . No identification available at present. @knxnews
