I think I saved Coach Heath from a “T!” An incredible moment. I remember Coach Christian & I whispering , as the buzzer sounded, that we were gonna win the “whole thing.” Came up just a little short in Final 4. Thanks @Eric_Haut_NKU ! @stanHeath_EMU @Trevor_Huffman
This moment sums up our team that year. We had arguably the worst call in NCAA Tournament history go against us, had to get a stop to force OT (which we did), and then beat them in OT anyway. Trev, Drew, Tone, Shaw, and ET NEVER FLINCHED. #Elite8 #FlashesForever⚡️

I’ve been a fan of reading “6 Word Memoirs” for years. I have each player write his out & share it with the team before the season. I have 13 years of them. Most are heart breaking. I think teams perform better when they know one another’s stories. #story @RUWarriorsMBB

RU bounces back with the win over Lawrence Tech. Walters led the way with 21 while Parker (19) and Cukaj (13) also scored in double figures. Polatoglou pulled down 11 rebounds as the RU moves to 8-1 (3-1) on the year. They're back home Saturday, Dec. 9 to play UM-Dearborn at 3pm

Amen. I mean, it is a team sport. Which ought to indicate that the team is the main thing. Seems obvious, yet many struggle with it. Our best teams over the years: guys on the end of the bench embraced this idea. And in turn were a huge part of the success.
"It's never just about the talent. Talent is a given. We identify guys...that are high character. They understand that they are walking into a culture and a locker room that is selfless. If guys aren't willing to buy into that - then this is not the right place for them."

@CoachRexWalters Great point. Grass is rarely greener. And if it is, it’s probably because the player is cutting and mowing the lawn.

People love the game winning shot. Gets all the attention. But not possible w/out this gutsy, all heart/effort defensive play. Diving on floor/causing chaos so we can come up with even a chance to win the game. This is game winning play. But not all realize it. @RUWarriorsMBB
