Saw a writer use "Ghiblicore" as shorthand for "cozy fantasies that have no conflict" and I suspect what people are confusing is Miyazaki's concept of "ma" or empty/negative space used to let the audience ruminate on the conflict along with the character

So, what I suspect people are calling for isn't a whole book that's just "cozy fantasy" but stories that have these quiet moments, stories that aren't actually a series of hooks dragging you along like an innocent bystander hit by the Plot Train

Open for a good debate - why is Rey a Skywalker? What qualifies her to carry the same name as Shmee, Luke, Leia, and Anakin? If it's about her mentor's last name, then Anakin could be a Kenobi by that logic. Or Palpatine would be a Plagueis/Damask. Discuss. Keep it respectful.
