Yes! At least she knew they were alive and that she would probably get to see them again eventually once Doyle was caught. Spencer mourned a friend who he thought had died and didn’t get to say goodbye to. I hate that it turned into a ‘I had it worse’ to stop him being upset.

The saddest criminal minds take is realising Spencer considered everyone in the BAU family because he didn't have a functional one of his own, then one by one he's had to watch those people leave to focus on their "real" family while he became less and less of a priority.
