Most vehicle burglaries are committed on vehicles that have been left unlocked. Do your part and HIDE your items, LOCK your vehicle, and TAKE your keys whenever you leave your vehicle unattended! You work hard for what you have; don't make it easy on criminals.

We want to remind everyone to celebrate responsibly. Drinking and driving is never worth the riskβ€”it puts lives in danger, including your own. Plan ahead: designate a sober driver, use a rideshare service, or stay where you are. Let’s make 2025 a safe and joyous year for all!

We want to help you stay safe this holiday season! 🎁 After Christmas, don’t advertise your new valuables! Break down boxes and hide item info before putting them in the trash. This simple step can help discourage thieves and keep your holidays merry and bright! πŸŽ„βœ¨

This morning, we had the incredible honor of hosting our Shop with a Veteran event at TJ Maxx, bringing together our officers and local veterans for a heartwarming experience. This special event not only helps spread holiday cheer but also allows us to recognize and give back to our veterans who have given so much to our country. Special thanks to TJMaxx for their generous support of our event.

Please join us in celebrating Canine Officer Baxter as he retires after five years with KPD. Baxter, our first canine officer trained to detect hidden electronics, played a vital role in over 200 cases, locating nearly 400 devices. His contributions to our department have been invaluable, and his service will never be forgotten. Thank you, Baxter, for your dedication, and enjoy your well-deserved retirement, good boy! 🐾
