I think Gopher is one of those fathers who see their daughter as something to safekeep rather than someone to nurture. They're kind, they provide, but they can't *connect* with their daughters because they see them as an accessory

Gopher Wood posturing himself as a "father figure" to Sunday was to make it easier to indoctrinate him, and he's not at all suitable for the role but it did give Sunday someone to look at as a parent nonetheless. I just really wonder what the Robin side of that dynamic was like
