In 2 years Dana Brown had traded Drew Gilbert, Ryan Clifford, Korey Lee, Jake Bloss, Joey Loperfido and Will Wagner for JV, Kendall Graveman (both on IL) and Yusei Kikuchi. Let that sink in.
Justin Verlander was as intricate to the Astros Golden Era of baseball as any other player during this time. If this is his last pitching performance at MMP as an Astro I am very grateful for all the memories he gave me.
I fucking love that it’s so easy to ignore Dubon (cold off the bench) coming into the game to play 2B for the 1st time this season and made 2 massive outs to help get that no hitter. Love that guy & this team.💙🧡
I grew up idolizing Bagwell and Biggio, but Jose Altuve is the greatest Astro of my lifetime. I am so happy my heart won't be broken seeing him play for another team. Jim Crane, you did a good thing here.
Shout out to Dana Brown who deserves this division title as much as anyone. Said early on the Astros would NOT be sellers. Went and got Kikuchi who I personally thought was overpriced (boy I ate crow there). Then made the right moves acquiring Gamel and Hayward. Rock solid GM.
No timetable on a Tucker return, Yordan can't hit at home, Chas & Dubon are practically unplayable right now and Dana really chose to ride out the rest of the season with this lineup. Awful.
Small sample size but gotta say of all the rookies called up who I was looking forward to Pedro Leon is by far the biggest disappointment. Doesn't move the needle at all for me.
Astros are gonna get maybe 10 starts from Kikuchi and we were told it was a win now trade. With 51 games left they chose to not get an every day bat with no timeline of Tucker returning. Why wasn’t the offense met with the same urgency?
"I've been playing all my career [with the

After signing an extension over the offseason, Jose Altuve discusses with
@markdero7
why staying in Houston was so important to him.
@GonsolinRBW
Your team spent over 1 billion in FA this offseason. Best odds to be WS champs, Deferred money till the next generation of Dodgers fans and Astros still live rent free in your head. Love this
@RooshWilliams
Also let’s not pull out receipts from 3 months ago and just enjoy Jalen playing like a superstar and the Rockets playing meaningful games for a change.
5-6 since the All Star break and we haven't even hit the gauntlet of the August schedule. Astros back to playing baseball like they did in April/May. Tough to watch...
**RANT POST**
Either this is a punch in the mouth for the Stros or gonna need the Mariners to start running away with it. Astros have no business being in this division race. Can't predict injuries but this is easily their weakest and most poorly constructed roster in years.
Before you start blaming Espada. Shaun Dubin & Nick Hernandez who was DFA'd 2 weeks ago were your only other options. You want to put them in a high leverage situation with a 2 run lead???
Astros have outplayed O’s in just about every game this year. Took an epic meltdown by Abreu and some questionable defense for them to win today. Flush it and move on. Framber dealing tomorrow.
@sethmnookin
This is a joke right? Mariners Twitter tried to put a crying kid on blast earlier this week for caring about his team and you tweet this shit?
Forrest Whitley struck out 2 over a scoreless innings last night. Up to 98.6 MPH with fastball. Both strikeouts came on the curveball. He threw just 12 pitches and got 4 whiffs.
#Astros
Ronel Blanco sweats like Patrick Ewing at the Free Throw line. Kind of impressive he hasn't been tossed for foreign substance before in the 2 years he's been in the league and the 5 times a start he's been checked till now.
@MLBUA
you are frauds.
@MichaelJBier
Imagine needing this as motivation and not the losing 3/4 games to Seattle to lose the division to end the season. What a bunch of lucky frauds.
@BenOndaTop
Maybe it’s just me but the pitching is the least of my worries. I know this is a marathon and a few days of bad games but the offense has been way too Jekyll/Hyde since all star break. It’s an abyss of thump once you get past Diaz.
@michaelschwab13
Sadly this is very common knowledge to anyone who has educated themselves on sign stealing in the last 3 year. But it doesn’t follow the national narrative that theAstros were the only ones doing something wrong
@LeftyTravis
Dubon crushing spring training meanwhile your current SS is trying to get more hacks in the backfield to figure out his swing. Not as crazy as it would seem.
He was brought in to face 6,7,8 hitters in LAA lineup. All with avg below .270. All OPS below .800. Even with a 2 run lead that should not be that "High Leverage" of a situation. I honestly don't think it matters where you pitch him, he's stuff just isn't elite anymore.
Not only is this fraud franchise not making the post season but they’re literally just rolling over for teams to end the season. Nobody ever mention to me again this is a championship team.
Jose Abreu can't start another game this series, I'm sorry. You can't bat .073 and not make a basic pick to get an out. This guy is a walking bad vibe right now.
The Astros book ending their season with their big money relievers blowing the game is a very fitting way for thins to end. Nothing was ever easy, everything was made way harder than it should. It is what it is.
Baltimore Orioles are 5th in MLB with .761 OPS. Phillies are 7th with .748 OPS
In 2 games vs them on this road trip Spencer Arrighetti has pitched 13.2IP/0ER/5BB/17K
@michaelschwab13
It is true that the majority of the lineup has been bad currently, but please show me one team that’s in playoff contention that doesn’t start it’s best 9 players game after game.
@BenDuBose
I think you run back the same lineup, same order. Love Chas but Dubon is just a better contact hitter rn. Tucker got on base all 4 times in the 6 hole. Lot of encouraging signs with the way it was constructed today.
