‼️: And we’re back! An encampment has returned to the University of Arizona Campus near Park Ave and University Blvd. Around 8pm protesters and police clashed, leading the police to retreat for the time being. It is unclear at if the 10:30 curfew is back in effect. More to come.

‼️: TEAR GAS FIRED. Officers have begun firing tear gas and pepper ball at protesters exiting the encampment. They have fully moved in and pushed protesters to Park Ave.

Midnight on University Boulevard after the clearing of the encampment. Woops Bakery was tagged with the words “Free Gaza”, planters were destroyed, and goggles from protesters were left behind. All of this happening while Gentle Ben’s plays the Cupid Shuffle.

‼️: STANDOFF ON PARK AVE. Protesters and Police have clashed while on different sides of Park Avenue. Gas canisters have been deployed at both protesters, counter protesters, and media.

After a pro-Palestinian encampment peacefully dispersed from the University of Arizona Mall, university officials have barricaded off the entire campus mall with no trespassing signs in anticipation of tomorrow’s protests.

At 11pm, the scene remains kind of eerie. With no police presence in sight and a peaceful encampment with lively music coming from it, it is a stark difference from the last encampment.

It’s five minutes until 10:30pm, the non-academic activity curfew at the University of Arizona. But, there are no cops visible right now. It’s actually a little eerie.

At 2:07am, the encampment has been destroyed and rubber bullets have been fired on protesters. It is unclear at this time if arrests have been made.

‼️: “Do not risk harm to yourself. Do not risk exposure to gas. Do not risk arrest.”. Chaotic scenes as protesters leave the encampment and enter Park Ave, only to be met with two SWAT vehicles from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.

At 11:41pm, UAPD Sgt. Valenzuela has ordered the encampment to disperse immediately at risk of being exposed to chemical agents. “Leave the area now or you may be exposed to gas, pepper spray, pepper ball, or other chemical munitions”

At 2:22am, University Police is pushing protesters down Park Ave. It is unclear how far police will move protesters.

At 10:30pm, University of Arizona police has closed off the encampment completely and protesters have moved to University Boulevard. University Boulevard is closed from Park Ave and 2nd St to Park Ave and 4th St.

At 11:07pm, a UAlert was sent out about an unlawful assembly, at the same time many officers from UAPD and Pima County arrive with riot gear.

At 12:11am UAPD Officer Sgt. Valenzuela, who has been making announcements of unlawful assembly since 11pm, said “If you continue to throw things at our officers, chemical agents will be used.”.
